Chapter 26: Satan (Claire's POV)

We woke up the next morning to noises coming from around the room. "Go, go, go, take care of your puppies," Leo mumbled, lying flat on his stomach, his arms under the pillow.

I sat up, looking at the puppies running around then looking at him. I sighed and got out of bed before walking over to the door and opening they ran out and stopped at the stairs. I looked at Leo who was trying to go back to sleep and took advantage of that. I leaned forward and smacked his ass before running out of there.

"Claire!" I heard him yell.

I picked them up and took them downstairs and let them out in the backyard. They were surprisingly easy to potty train, the three demon dogs I grew up with, who I loved very much, took a lot more work than this. They ran around for a little bit, played with each other, and once they were tired I took them back in.

"Oh, puppy food always looks disgusting," I mumbled while taking their food out. I bent down and set their bowls by the counter, standing up when I felt a smack on my ass. "Piss off, Leo. You can't touch my butt," I mumbled, going to wash my hands.

"But you can touch mine?" he scoffed, "Tit for tat," he mumbled, sitting down at the counter, rubbing his eyes sleepily.

"Why didn't you go back to sleep?" I asked while making myself a tea and his coffee.

"What time is it?" he yawned.

"It's six in the morning," I chuckled. He put his head down on the counter and stayed there for a while.

"Coffee," I said, sliding his cup over to him.

"Thanks," he said.

"Go back to sleep," I laughed.

He shook his head before sipping his coffee. "Are you hungry?" he asked.

"No, not right now," I answered. I've been here for a month. A month. I should probably go buy tampons and pads and stuff, I'm supposed to get the monthly Satan visit soon. I'm supposed to get me period. "I need to go to the grocery store," I said, putting my cup down.

"No," he shook his head, "Tell me what food you want and I'll go get it," he replied.

"I think I should go for this one, Leo."

"No, Claire. I don't like repeating myself again and again. Just tell me what you want."

"I need to get tampons and pads. Can you get that for me?" I arched an eyebrow at him and he spit his coffee out. "That's what I thought," I nodded.

"What do you mean? Of course, I can go get that for you," he stammered.

"Do you even know how that stuff works? How to find the sizes? Where it even is in the store?" I questioned.

"I'll ask for help," he shrugged. I eyed him carefully while he fell into thought. "Right no. I'll call you. If I don't get it, I'll facetime you. Then you can tell me what to do," he shrugged.

"Wouldn't it be much easier for me to just go and get it myself? You can come with me," I said.

"Absolutely not. The last time I went to the grocery store, Theo showed up. I can't risk taking you and that happening again. Sorry, babe. You're not leaving this house till the whole issue is resolved." I stared at him in shock when he called me babe.

"You called me babe," I grinned.

"No, I didn't," he replied, looking at me.

"Yes, you did," I walked over to him.

"No," he huffed when I threw my arms around him, trying to push me off.

I pulled away and pouted down at him. "Why can't I hug you?" I stuck my bottom lip out.

"I don't like hugs," he mumbled.

"That's not true. You hug me in bed all the time."

"We're not in bed right now," he retorted.

I hugged him tightly while his nose scrunched up and pleased kisses on his cheek before sitting beside him. "I really can't come?"

"Nope."

I sighed in defeat, "Okay, just facetime me when you get confused. I know you will. Put your number in, which I don't know why you haven't done yet," I said, handing him my phone.

He punched his number in before giving it back to me. "I'll be back in no more than thirty minutes, okay?" He stood up and kissed me before grabbing his keys.

"Bye," I sang.

"Bye," he said before locking the door behind him and leaving.

After about ten minutes when I was sitting there on the couch playing with Ace and Max, my phone rang. It was a facetime call. I answered it and held the phone up while I lay down on the couch. "Hi," I laughed.

"Claire, seriously what the hell? What aisle is this stuff even in?" he huffed while looking around.

"It should be the sixth aisle if I'm thinking of the right store," I answered.

He headed over and stopped at the start of the aisle. "Sixth aisle, noted. Okay, what do you need?" he sighed.

"Get me at least two packets of pads and tampons so you don't have to go again next month," I laughed, "Bring a medium-sized pack of pads-"

"Where the fuck are those?"

"It's a blue and pink packet, Leo, find it," I chuckled.

"These?" He held it up while a lady walked past him, looking at him like he was an alien.

"Yes, baby," I smirked.

He sent the lady a small wave before she walked away, shaking her head. "Don't call me that," he mumbled while putting the two packets in the cart.

"Okay, baby," I sang.

"Okay, what now?" he asked.

"Tampons. Two packs," I replied.

He managed to find those since there are different tampons everywhere. He added them to the cart. "Now?"

"Chocolate," I grinned.

He rolled his eyes and began walking to the food aisle. He stepped into the food aisle and began grabbing chocolates, already knowing which ones I liked. The phone was still in his hand and he was talking to me about something but I stopped listening when I saw a familiar face behind him. I cut him off, "Theo."

"It's Leo, love," he scoffed.

"No, Theo. Behind you."

He put his phone down and put it in his pocket immediately. I muted myself on the call but listened in regardless. "I knew you were hiding her." I knew Theo's voice.

"I'm not hiding her," Leo said, probably rolling his eyes right now.

"Are you getting pads and tampons for yourself, princess Leo?" he teased.

"No, for you, actually," Leo retorted.

"Where is she? At your house?" Theo questioned.

"I already told you, she is not with me. Her dad sent her off. Out of state."

"Out of state? That's a new story," he chuckled.

"It's a true story, you dumb fuck. She's out. Somewhere in New York with some family or something, I'm helping with the money, okay? Not the girl."

"You expect me to believe you?"

"I expect you to not be stupid enough to waste your time here. In a grocery store. Where this time, you were even dumber than last time and decided to come alone today. That isn't very smart now," he said, his voice getting lower and scarier, "Is it?"

There was silence and I couldn't see anything and now I couldn't hear anything either. "That's what I thought," I heard Leo mumbled before he pulled out his phone. "Anything else?" I opened my mouth to ask about what happened but he didn't let me talk. "I'll tell you when I get home. Anything else?"

"No, that's it. I'll see you later?"

"Yeah, I'll be there in ten minutes," he replied before hanging up.

I sighed and looked down at the two sleeping on my stomach. "Let's see what happened now," I sighed to myself. I looked up when the door beeped and then opened revealing Leo with two grocery bags. I didn't move or stand up because Ace and Max were sleeping on me. "Hey," I mumbled, looking up while he walked over to me.

"Hey," he replied before leaning down and kissing my forehead.

"What happened?" I asked while he handed me a pack of Oreos.

He knows me so well.

He sat on the floor, his back towards me, leaning against the couch while he lay his head back. "That guy is such a pain in the ass, I can't tell you," he sighed, shaking his head lightly.

"I know, I heard some of it, obviously," I replied before I started running my fingers through his hair.

"I handled it. Do you even have family out in New York or did I just feed him complete bullshit?" he asked.

"I don't have any family in New York," I laughed.

"Good, nobody out there is in danger then. That could have been really bad," he mumbled, looking up at me.

"Well, luckily nobody's in New York," I replied before leaning down and kissing him. I pulled away and chuckled. "What?" "That kiss made me spiderman," I laughed, "And you're my MJ."

He rolled his eyes before pulling down by my neck, kissing me again.

"Then I'll be MJ."
