Chapter 34: Catch (Claire's POV)
I lay there in bed beside him, once again naked. Well, I had underwear on. It's a little hard to resist someone when you realize you love them. He was almost asleep so I pulled his shirt on and stood up, looking through the bookshelf in his room. At the very bottom, I found all his notebooks from school. Which were mostly empty since he never went to class. The one notebook that was filled, every page. Was for French.
"I speak it fluently." I jumped, feeling his hands on my waist and his chest against my back.
"I took Spanish but I don't speak it fluently at all," I chuckled, turning around to face him, putting the notebook down, "Say something in French."
He seated me on the desk and stood between my legs. "Hmm, je suis à toi," he grinned.
"What does that mean?" I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"It means, I'm yours," he answered.
"Say something else," I mumbled.
Him speaking in French turned the dial up by like a thousand. I felt very attracted to him. "Je ne regrette rien, parce que je t'aime."
"What does that mean?" I chuckled.
"I'll tell you. Some day," he nodded with a smirk.
"I'll use google translate," I whispered.
He chuckled and rolled his eyes, "It means," he looked at me, suddenly completely serious. "I regret nothing because I love you."
The smile fell from my face before returning in a full power grin. "Really?" I asked.
"I love you, Claire."
"I love you too," I beamed.
"Seriously?"
"Yes," I laughed, "I was waiting for you to say it. I didn't want to push you," I explained.
"Tu as très stupid," he rolled his eyes.
"Oui, je suis très stupid," I nodded while laughing.
"Tu parles français?" His eyes widened.
"Oui, comme toi," I laughed before pulling his lips down to mine.
"You didn't take Spanish, did you?" he mumbled against my lips.
"I sat behind you for four years, Leo. Have a little shame," I chuckled.
"Sorry, I never turned around," he smirked.
"Maybe you should have, you could have fallen in love with me earlier," I retorted. His hand slipped under my shirt and rested at my waist while his right hand drew small circles on my lower back. "I fell hard for you," I chuckled.
"I caught you, didn't I? I'll always be there. I'll catch you," he winked before kissing me again. He pulled me back onto the bed and sat down under me, pulling me into his lap so I straddled him.
If you can't resist someone because you know in your heart that you love them, then how do you resist them if they tell you they love you back?

I woke up after that a little past midnight to chaos outside the house. I crawled out of bed and grabbed his shirt from the desk chair, pulling it over my head quickly. I looked out the window, my eyes widening. There are people. There are loads of people. And there's Theo. And who I'm assuming is Seth.
I stepped back and stumbled, the back of my legs hitting the bed, causing me to fall back. "Leo," I shook him. "Leo, wake up," I said.
"What? What's wrong? What happened?" He sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes.
"Theo's outside," I mumbled.
"What?" he asked in shock.
"There's a lot of people out there- I don't know, I-"
He stood up and went over to the window, clicking his tongue. "They're stupid," he sighed. He grabbed his phone and dialed. "I need help. Loads of it." He disappeared into the hallway and came back moments later.
"Where's Flynn?"
"Sleeping, he's an idiot," he mumbled.
"Now what do we do?" I asked.
"Nothing, I got help," he shrugged.
"You what?"
"Don't worry, you're safe, Claire." He walked over to me, pulling me into his arms.
"Are people about to die?"
"Probably not but I can't be certain Claire," he whispered, "Someone's going to get hurt though," he sighed.
"You better not be going out there," I glared up at him.
"I have to," he said softly.
"No, Leo! Sit your ass down!" I growled before grabbing his shoulders and pushing him down on the bed.
"I-"
"Shut up. If you say one more word, if you go down there, Leo..." I huffed, "I won't speak to you, or kiss you, or hug you. I'll act how you did last week."
"No, no, no, please. Okay, I won't go," he said quickly, pulling me down in his lap. "I'm not going."
"You bet your ass you're not going," I huffed.
"I love it when you get angry," he chuckled.
"Leo, shut up," I whined, standing up and going to the window, looking down. I saw almost five cars coming in of guys who looked scarier than the ones already here. They were huge. "Who's that?" I asked.
"I used to race with them," he said, standing behind me.
"Race?!" I yelled, looking up at him.
"Ow," he winced, covering his ear.
"Sorry," I said sheepishly, "You used to race?"
"Yeah, since junior year," he winked, "I made a few friends. Gained a few allies. For times like this," he nodded to the view. I looked ahead of me, my jaw falling slack. People were beating each other up everywhere. And Leo didn't look bothered in the slightest. He was just watching, not a single expression on his face.
I should have been scared but I wasn't, I was simply fascinated.
"Somebody's gonna die tonight."
"No one's dying. I told them not to kill anyone," he mumbled, his lips against my skin.
"Would they if you didn't stop them?" I asked.
"They could if one of them gets hurt first," he answered.
After one point, he began distracting me because he could tell I started getting queasy just watching. "Je pense..." he whispered, spinning me around to face him, "Tu es très jolie, Claire." I raised my eyebrows at him. "Et je te veux plus chaque jour."
I chuckled, "Ãa ne fait qu'un mois, non?"
He shrugged, "Je m'en fiche."
"Vraiment?" I grinned.
"Oui, vraiment," he nodded before kissing me. For those of you who didn't understand, he's trying to flirt with me so I'm distracted. That's basically it. And he said he wants me more every day.
"I appreciate you trying to distract me, but it isn't really working," I whispered.
"They'll be done in a minute, I promise."
"Hmm," I sat on his desk, "Talk in French until then," I shrugged.
"Pourquoi?" he chuckled.
"J'aime l'entendre," I replied.
I like to hear it.
"What do you want me to say?"
"Up to you, my love," I shrugged.
"J'aime tes yeux au soleil."
I love your eyes in the sun.
"Pourquoi?"
He chuckled, "Tes yeux brillent."
Your eyes shine.
"Le tien aussi," I grinned.
"Et toi, ma chérie, tu me possèdes."
And you, my darling, you own me.
I shook my head, "Non, je t'aime," I whispered before kissing him softly.
He pulled away moments later and pecked my lips. "They're gone," he whispered. I turned around and looked out the window. It was like they were never there. "No one died, see," he smiled.
"I'm glad," I sighed out of relief. He held my cheeks before kissing me, pressing his lips down on mine firmly.
"I have a question for you," he cleared his throat, "Don't you want me to change? Stop associating with such people? Be a little more normal?" he sighed.
I shook my head, "No." My brows furrowed in confusion. Why would he even ask that?
"Why not?"
"Why? Leo, the people you know don't define you, neither does your past. As long as I've known you, you haven't hurt me or anybody else. That's all I care about. I don't want you to change at all," I explained, "In fact, I even liked you before you showed me that smile," I said, pinching his cheek making him smile.
"I like you in every way possible. When you're nice, sweet, caring, and when you're rude, annoying, and arrogant. Leo, I love you. Not little things about you. I love those too, of course. But that's not who I'm with. I'm with you, hmm?"
He nodded in response.
"It doesn't matter what version of you I'm with," I said before pulling him into a warm hug. "You know what I feel like doing when you get in moods like this?" I asked, pulling away enough to look at him.
"What?" he asked.
"I feel like taking a bunch of kisses, literal kisses, all right?" He chuckled. "Wrapping them up in a nice little gift box, with a bow and everything, all right?" He grinned. "And throwing the box at your face like a fucking brick."
He laughed before kissing me softly. "I love you, Claire. So much," he whispered with a smile.
"I love you too, Leo. So much."
