- Avery/ Chloe's POV -
Alex let out a low whistle.
"Are you sure? I mean it's a lot" Alex trailed off
"She's sure" Parker grunts from beside me and I rolled my eyes
"I think I can answer for myself" I turned to Parker and glared. Parker just scoffed, crossed his arms and laid back in the chair.
"Ok...so. Here it goes" Alex said under his breath and I noticed Madds staring at him, looking mesmerized.
"Ahem-ahem Madds-ahem" I fake coughed to get Madds attention and surprisingly it worked.
"Are you enjoying the view?" I smirked at her and I watched as her cheeks turned a deep shade of scarlet
"I don't know what you're taking about" she denied looking away trying to hide her smile. Right when I was about to reply, Alex came back and took his seat while holding a thick as hell looking book.
"Uh. What's that?" Meg asked as she eyes the dusty brown book in his hands
"A book" he deadpans and Madds laughed
"We can all see that" Jenna said to Alex with raised eyebrows and my attention was brought to Nate's arm. His arm that was currently around her waist. Wow. What did I miss there? Well, it was bound to happen eventually.
"Oh! Well, it's a book that has the information you guys are looking for. Is that better?" Alex asked
"Much" Nate grinned and looked at Jenna who chuckled at his response.
"You're not very nice" Nate mutters and Jenna smiled and pinched his cheek.
"Of course I'm not" she grinned at him and he just looked at her lovingly before pulling her closer to him.
"Whipped" Hunter coughed and Nate glared at him, obviously hearing. Scarlett slapped him on the back of his head for being rude.
"I think its cute" Scarlett smiled at Nate and Nate smirked at Hunter and stuck his tongue out at him. Well, we sure were immature. Alex was just watching this whole scene unfold and when it was over he was staring at all of us weirdly.
"Is this how you guys usually act?" Alex asked
"Pretty much" Madds said and Alex smiled
"I like it." he grinned and then his face became serious
"Now let's get down to business" he started and looked at Parker
"What color is your wolf?" Alex asked him and Parker gave him a blank look
"Why?" Parker asked him and Alex rolled his eyes
"Is it black?" Alex asked instead and Parker nodded surprised, probably wondering how he knew that.
"How did you know?" Parker asked voicing out my thoughts
"Well.....the mates of the white wolfs usually have black fur. Ya know? Black fur and white fur, they're exact opposites and you know what they say. Opposites attract. The white wolves are usually pure, kind, shy and the black wolves are usually the more outgoing between the pair, hotheaded and domineering." Alex explained
"How did you know we were mates?" I asked him and Alex let out a small laugh
"It was so obvious, anyone can see that you two are mates. That shouldn't even be a question" he chuckled and I looked over to Parker to see that he was already looking at me wearing his signature smirk.
"See babe? Everyone can see it" Parker smirked and I glared at him before turning away. I tried to ignore the shock that went through my body when he called me by the endearment. Ugh!
"Ok. Continue Alex" I smiled politely
"Alrighty, so....as you might know, white wolves posses special capabilities. One of those things is your scent. You are able to hide or disguise your scent" Alex said
"What do you mean?" Scarlett asked
"Ok so...every werewolf has two special scents. One scent is your general werewolf smell. So other werewolves and stuff can smell if there is a rouge, a werewolf etcetera. The other scent is what I like to call, your mate scent. Only your mate can smell this scent. Being a white wolf you can hide or disguise either one of the scents or even both! That way you can make your mate not smell you, or you can hide the fact you're a werewolf." Alex elaborated
"Oh. That's cool" Scarlett said and I nodded
"Very" I agreed
"What are the others?" Hunter asked and Alex nodded
"Um. You can also read minds. Only werewolves, of course. So normal werewolves are able to talk through mind links in their pack only. You can do that with any pack. If you try hard, because it's very hard to accomplish. Also, you have some sort of a force field, shield kind of thing. But that's the one thing you can't control. The shield can sense when you're in danger and it comes up and surrounds you but you don't control it. It comes up on its own time. Sometimes it doesn't work, you never know for sure." Alex continued
Wow! Thats scary. What if you were in a desperate situation and your life depended on the shield? Then suddenly, I remembered the dream I had a while ago. The little girl in the dream was about to be attacked by rogues and the shield protected her. My dream was right. It led me here.
"Last but not least, my favorite of all the white wolves powers. You have healing abilities. You can heal other people. Of course, you can't heal the dead but you can heal the hurt or injured. You can save lives. Like....um, Leo!" Alex exclaimed and I, along with everyone else look at him with a confused expression.
"Leo? Leo from the show 'Charmed'?" Alex yelled
"What the hell is 'Charmed'?" Parker asked and Alex's jaw fell open
"Only the best show in the universe!" Alex yelled at us with disbelieving eyes
"Just shut up" Parker scoffed and Alex glared at him
"So, how do you do it?" I asked and Alex looked over to me
"Do what?" he asked and I rolled my eyes
"Activate my powers" I answered
"Ah. Its more of a, when? Then a, how?" Alex said and I frowned
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Parker said and I elbowed him
"What does that mean?" I asked nicely
"Well, the powers usually come to you in a form of a dream. It's only a matter of time. Did you happen to have a dream?" Alex said and my friends looked at me pointedly
"Uh, yeah. I did. It was about the shield" I said and he nodded
"You activated the shield already. Now whenever you're in danger it'll be there. Even if you don't feel any different now." Alex smiled
"She won't be in danger" Parker grumbled and I noticed that we were now closer than before on the couch. I tried scooting away a little but I was already at the end on the couch. So I abruptly stand up.
"Um guys, I think we should go now" I announced after looking at my watch and Alex stands up to lead us all out.
"Thanks Alex" Jenna grinned and Nate gives him a head nod with a smile and then pulls Jenna outside.
"Bye man" Hunter said and does one of those handshakes with Alex and Scarlett just smiles and then they walk out together.
"Bye" Meg said and gave a small wave before walking outside to join the others.
Parker just nods at Alex and pats his shoulder and walks outside. I look at Madds and smiled sadly, knowing that she would have to leave him since he lives all the way out here. I walk over to Alex and gave him a small hug and I thanked him for all of his help. I looked at Madds and left because I knew they would want to talk in private.
"Why did you hug him?" Parker snapped as soon as I stepped outside
"None of your beeswax" I smirked and he frowned deeply
"Dont frown. It makes your face look uglier" I remarked even though I knew that was a lie. His face could never be described as ugly.
I started walking away to join the others but he grabbed my arm by the elbow and pulled me closer to him.
"Youre a bad liar" Parker said and I felt the shivers that went through my body because of his touch.
"No Im not" I denied and he chuckled before letting me go
"Do you deny everything?" he asked
"No" I said and he shook his head
"Yes you do. You even deny your feelings for me" Parker pushed and I felt my jaw drop.
"What?! What are you saying?" I yelled and he scoffed
"You know exactly what Im saying and I can't deal with it anymore! I try so hard to get on your good side, I restrain myself whenever I feel like doing something...not so pure, I don't pressure you and I try to understand but I can't do it anymore. It's too hard, youre my mate and I would appreciate it, if you would except that!" Parker ranted and I frowned. Everything was suddenly quiet and all my friends we now looking at us. I couldn't hear anything but the qentle gusts of the wind. How did this conversation take such a deep turn like this?
"Are you gonna say anything or are you just going to stand there?" Parker asked bringing me out of my thoughts. I think this is the maddest I've ever seen Parker look. His face was flushed, his fists were clenched, his chest moving up and down rapidly and I felt like he was counting to 10 in his head to calm down. I wanted to say something, I wanted to reply but I couldnt. I was just frozen.
"I see" Parker swallowed at my silence and looked away
"Come on guys. Let's get home" Parker said starting to walk away and soon everyone started following him.
Madds came up from behind me, looking sad as she smiled and waved goodbye at an equally sad Alex standing by the door.
"Dont worry, I'll see you again. Im moving out and I'm going to the pack house. I promise" Alex shouted and Madds grinned looking a bit happier and I was happy for her too. Alex winked at her one last time before waving again and turning around. He went into his cabin and lock the door. I looked at Madds.
"Are you ok?" I asked her
"Shouldn't I ask you that question?" Madds said narrowing her eyes at me
"Oh. You heard what he said?" I asked referring the scene that unfolded a few moments ago.
"Yeah. I did. What's wrong with you?!"she said and then proceeded to smack me
"OW! What the hell!" I yelled even though it didn't hurt that badly
"He totally loves you, you love him and yet you're denying it. Just go to him!" she yelled at me and I rolled my eyes
"I don't love him" I scoffed and she raised an eyebrow at me
"I don't" I said louder shaking my head repeatedly
"Whatever. You have to at least realize you have feelings for him before it's too late" Madds scolded and suddenly the fear of losing Parker in my life gave me a new burst of energy.
"Well, let's hurry up then" I smiled and she grinned
Then we took off, trying to catch up to the others.
