Chapter 3: Chapter 3: I HATE Rogues

"Where's Parker?" I asked my mother

"I think he said something about staying with Lindsay tonight" she said while leaning her head on my dad's chest.

"Does he know about it?" I questioned referring to the transformation that would be taking place in a few minutes

"Yes honey he does. But he said Lindsay called him at the last minute and said it was an emergency" my mom explained and I frowned. Parker's never missed one of these before. Is Lindsey more important than me? I felt anger start to bubble within me so I disregarded the thought.

"I never liked that girl" my dad said shaking his head. Me either dad, I thought.

"Ronald, stop being mean" my mom scolded and hit him on the chest

"What! You were the one who thought she was a bit-" my dad got cut off by my mom's glare

"Never mind" he muttered and I laughed

"Really dad?!" I said and shake my head disappointingly

"Avery! Keep walking!" My mom ordered. Sometimes I wonder if dad's the Luna and if mom was really the Alpha.

Finally, we got to the usual spot where we go when I transform. I had found it when I was 5 with Parker. One day we were just running and we came across this secret place. Mom and dad found it later on and decided we could do this here. I stepped into the small opening and I was again amazed at it's beauty. There were big old trees but what made the whole scene beautiful was the small stream that ran over rocks. It was right in the middle of the trees and gave the whole place a nice vibe.

"You ready sugarplum?" My dad asked me. I don't really know why my parents make endearments for me and not Parker. Life just isn't fair.

"More than ready" I said excitedly all traces of previous anger gone

"Ok" my dad chuckled and stepped back

"Good luck honey" my mom said and stepped back with my dad. She wished me good luck because she knows that once you don't transformed in a long amount of time the transformation will be very painful.

"Thanks mom" I whispered. I guess through all the excitement I forgot about the pain of transforming.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. A few seconds later I felt and heard the cracking of my bones.

"Ahhhhh!" I screamed as my body started to morph into the shape of a wolf. I was soon down on all fours and I felt my fur coat start to appear. Soon enough I was covered in clean, pure, white fur. My eyes became bright blue as they always did when I transformed. I looked up at my mother who had tears in her eyes and my dad who was smiling softly at me. He nodded his head and that was my cue that told me I was allowed to go for a run.

I soared feeling the wind flow through my thick fur. I let out a small howl of pleasure and leaped in the air. This feeling was indescribable. I felt pure relief and I felt free but even these words couldn't describe it fully.

'You're gonna find him!' I heard a voice inside my head say and then I realized it was just my wolf Blair.

'Who?' I asked trying to communicate with her through my head

'Your mate, dumbo' she answered back snarkily. Well then!

'Really, how do you know?' I questioned

'I just do. I can feel it.' she answered vaguely

'Ok then...' I said timidly and she stopped talking. I rarely talk to Blair since I don't transform often but she'll be here for at least two more days without me transforming. I think she also appears to tell you if you have found your mate and other important stuff.

I ran back to where my mom and dad had been just to see no one there. Jeez, what is up with everyone abandoning me? I transformed into my human form feeling my bones crack painfully and shape into a human form and then I pulled on the clothes I hid in the trees.

“Dad?”

“Mom?”

“Hello?” I called out but there was no answer. What the hell?!

“AV!” I heard a panicked voice yell and I spun around

“Meg?” I said confused when I saw Meghan

“Hurry! Follow me!” she said looking behind her

“Ok?” I said unsure of what was going on

“Come on” she hurried me towards our pack safe house that was hidden in the forest

“Meg, what's going on?” I demanded and she looked at me

“Rogues” she stated and the one word was enough to make me panic. Rogues were dangerous werewolves. They were wolves that had gone astray from their packs and mostly caused harm.

“Where’s my mom and dad?” I asked. I was tempted to add Parker but I remembered that he was with the leech.

“Your mom is gathering people and your dad is outside fighting too” she said softly

“FIGHTING?!” I yelled outraged. What if my dad got hurt?! I would be able to cope if he ya know...let’s not think about that.

“Yeah, but I’m sure he’ll be fine” she assured me

“AVERY!” I heard someone call my name

“MOM!” I shouted running into my mom’s embrace, glad that she was here

“Is dad ok?” I asked quietly and she nodded

“How do you know?” I said

“I can feel it through the mate bond” she smiled

“Ok good” I breathe a sigh of relief. If you completed the mate bond and your mate dies, you would die too because you’d just feel pain forever. And you complete your mate bond by making the male mark the female and by having...intercourse. Wow, that was awkward to explain.

“Honey go over there” my mom instructed and pointed towards a part of the room

“Ok” I complied and started walking toward where she had pointed

“Hunter. Madds!” I yelled when I saw them

“Oh god. Avery!” Madds said relieved while Hunter embraced me in a bear hug

“Did you transform tonight?” Hunter whispered and I nodded

“Yeah”

“Oh my god, did anyone see you?” Madds asked worried

“No. I don't think so” I said furrowing my eyebrows

“Hopefully” a new voice entered our conversation

“Meghan, thank you so much for getting me” I said gratefully

“Well, what are friends for?” she smiled and I laughed

“True” I agreed and nodded

“Wait, Scarlett and Nathan are ok too, right?” I asked

“Yep, I checked on them before I came here. Their in their house, and their house is in the town locked up tight, they were sleeping when I checked on them.” Hunter said confidently and I raise an eyebrow

“Along with all the humans of course” Hunter finished blushing. Humans lived in the town. Very far away from werewolf territory.

“Sure” Meghan said sarcastically

“Shut up” Hunter said and rolled his eyes making Madds chuckle and shake her head

“So how did it feel?” Madds acquired

“Like it always does. Painful then awesome” I grinned

“Such a wonderful description” Meg said and shook her head

“Yeah she deserves a medal” Hunter laughed and I glared at them

“You guys suck” I stated and stuck my tongue out.

“AHHH!” I heard my mother let out an agonizing scream

“MOM! ARE YOU OK?!” I yelled worriedly as I ran to her

“Your father. He’s hurt.” was all she was able say before letting out another scream

“Is he….dead?” I whimpered close to tears

“No” she groaned

“He’s close though” she said crying as she let out another scream.

“I’ve got to go” I said and stood up handing my mom over to another lady of the pack

“Honey what are you doing” my mom asked weakly

“I can't let both off my parents die!” I said incredulously

“You're not going out there!” she said firmly until she let out yet another scream

“I have to mom, I’ll be right back” I said determined and I left not waiting for my mom’s answer

“Wait! Avery!” I heard Hunter yell

“What?” I said

“We’re coming with you” he said in a stern voice

“You can't” I said frowning

“Well we are” Madds said and crossed her arms

“No ifs, ands, or buts” Meg added

“Fine, thank you” I said with a smile

“We couldn't let you go out there by yourself” Hunter said with a small smile and I grinned

“You guys are the best” I said

“We know” Meg said and we started our walk towards the fight

“You're not transforming” Madds stated and I frowned

“And why not?” I challenged

“It’s too dangerous” she exclaimed

“She’s right” Hunter nodded

“Yeah, Hunter, Madds and I will shift and you’ll go in, get your dad and we’ll leave.” Meg explained and I gaped

“As my human form?!” I yelled

“Well yeah” Meg rolled her eyes

“But I’m more vulnerable in my human form” I said

“Well, do you want everyone to find out that you're a white wolf?” Madds whispered with narrowed eyes

“Especially if a rogue gets away knowing your secret” Hunter said in his ‘all knowing voice’

“Fine. You guys have got a point.” I sighed

“Of course we do!” Meg rolled her eye and pursed my lips

“Whatever” I said still annoyed

Soon we were by the battle zone. There was blood all over, dead bodies, and some dead or injured werewolves from our pack. Numerous werewolves were fighting off rogues and winning but the rogues still managed to kill a few of the people in my pack. I scanned the mass of bodies for my dad and saw him on the ground far away from where I was standing. Oh great! Note the sarcasm.

“Guys I see him” I informed my friends and they nodded looking over to where I gestured towards.

“Ok” Madds said

“Ready girls?” Hunter asked and Meghan and Maddison nodded. Hunter shifted first, his whole body now covered with dark shiny brown fur and cold yellow eyes. Then it was Meg with her golden coat and bright red eyes. And finally Madds with her sleek caramel colored fur and silverish grey with a tint of blue eyes.

They all ran towards the fight and I had to come up with a way to get to my dad. Thanks for the help guys! Again note the sarcasm. I bent down and started to walk towards my dad. Oh god! A rouge was just thrown towards me but thankfully I ducked down in time. Now I started crawling towards my unresponsive dad until finally I made it. I stretched my arm out to touch my dad when suddenly I felt a sharp pain.

I turned towards my leg and saw a rogue a few feet away from staring at my leg. My leg had a huge bite mark in it and was bleeding profusely. Shit! Thanks to werewolf healing it wouldn't take too long to heal but that didn't stop the pain.

The rouge started coming towards my dad and I and I started to worry. I couldn't transform so how the fuck am I supposed to protect myself?! When the rouge was just a few inches away, 3 familiar werewolves stood in front of my dad and I blocking the rouge from coming any closer. Those 3 wolves were, if you don't already know, Madds, Hunty, and Meg. I turned around to tend to my dad while my friends were guarding us.

The stinging pain continued in my leg but I ignored it because my dad needed me. He had many cuts and bruises but what worried me the most was his stomach and head, both of which was bleeding non stop. I pulled my dad up and I knew I wouldn't be able to carry him. He weighed a ton and was unconscious. I mean I'm a werewolf not superman! I patted Hunters fur and he turned around. I saw that the rouge who had bit my leg was now dead. Good for him! Leg biter. I pointed at my dad and then Hunter’s back and Hunter’s wolf head nodded indicating he knew what I was telling him. I lifted my dad the best I could and rested him on hunters back.

"We gotta go!" I yelled and Madds and Meg started running. I walked behind Hunter holding my dad who was now on Hunter’s back. Soon we were in front of the pack safe house. Meg and Madds shifted back into their human form to help me carry in my dad.

"Oh god! He's so heavy! Shit!" Meg said

"What does he eat?" Madds said struggling to hold both legs.

"Grapefruits" I grumble under my breath as I remembered this morning. When we finally got my dad inside my mom was the first to see us.

"Oh my goodness!" She cried tears running down her pale face. She looked at me and caressed my face looking at me with soft eyes.

"Don't you ever do that again. You understand me?" she said sternly

"Yes mom" I said mockingly and she raised an eyebrow at me

"Sorry" I mumbled and then she looked down to my forgotten dad that was somehow taken and put on a bed. My mom gasped and a new river of tears appeared.

"Ronald?" My mom whispered shakily and made her way towards him. She knelt down by the bed and gently touched the cut he had on his head.

"Please be okay, Ronald." My mom said and covered her mouth to muffle a sob

"He'll be ok mom" I assured her and she nodded through tears

"He will. He has to be" my mom said wiping her tears. I went to sit beside her but a sharp pain went up my leg.

"Ah, shit!" I hissed in pain

"Honey are you alri-OH MY GOD YOU'RE HURT!" My mom started to ask but once she saw my bloodied leg she made the conclusion.

"Sandra, quick we need you!" my mom said frantically calling the pack doctor

"What's wrong Luna Elizabeth, did Alpha Ronald wake up?" Sandra addressed formally and my mom shook her head no and showed her my leg instead. I guess she was the one who put my dad on the bed.

"Oh dear. What happened Avery?" Sandra asked

"A rouge bit me" I said and my mom pursed her lips at me. Probably scolding me in her head.

"Why didn't you tell me Avery?" My mom snapped

"I forgot?" I tried to weave my way out of my mother's wrath.

"Sure." My mom rolled her eyes annoyed

"Sandra can you please take care of this?" My mom asked turning to Sandra who nodded. Sandra rolled up my blood stained pants revealing a disgusting opening in my skin. I quickly looked away when I heard my mom gasp.

"This is pretty bad” Dr. Sandra grimaced and I looked back at her

“Really?” I asked dreadful

“Yep” she nodded and my mom frowned

“It’s fixable though right?” my mom asked suddenly very worried

“Yeah, it might take a while to heal but it should be pretty fast because of werewolf healing. I just have to clean your wound and wrap it up. Dont be too hard on it though” she explained

“Ok” I said and looked at the wound. It was a huge bite mark and around it was purple and blue. Plus it was still bleeding! It’s official, I fucking hate rogues.

- Parker’s POV -

This morning I told Lindsay would be busy tonight because I had to do something important with Avery. I mean it was her first transformation in 2 years! I’ve never missed one before and I didn't plan to miss this one. But as soon as I mentioned Avery’s name this morning Lindsay didn't want to hear anymore and she changed the subject immediately. I mean, I understood that Avery wasn't her best friend but, this was becoming ridiculous! Avery was just my sister!

Then I was on my way home from school when Lindsay called me and said she had an emergency. I still had 2 hours left until Avery’s shift so I told her I would come. I get to Lindsay's house and you want to know what her big emergency was?! SHE COULDN'T PICK A DAMN NAIL POLISH COLOR! I almost killed her out of annoyance. Then, I go to leave but, guess what? My car wouldn't start so, I called one of the pack members who owned a towing company but they wouldn't answer. I was so close to shifting and running back home but I couldn't do that because Lindsay lived close to the town and the town is where humans lived. I wouldn't take that risk. Even though Lindsay was a werewolf, she liked living near the town because she said ‘it’s closer to the shops.’ Cue the eye roll.

So, of course I have to spend the night at fucking Lindsay's house. Now, we were watching some movie about a bunch of girl crap. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before with Avery, but Avery makes watching this kinda shit fun. I actually enjoy watching it with her, how her nose always scrunches up cutely when a kissing scene comes on and how her big mesmerizing blue eyes widen when something interesting happens. Most of the time I just watch her instead of the movie. Is that creepy? I cant believe this...why am I thinking about my sister like this?

“OW FUCK!” I hissed in pain as I felt a sharp sting go through my leg.

“Babe? What’s wrong?” Lindsay said but she was still staring at the TV watching the movie.

“I-I don't know” I said confused but then another sharp pain went up my leg.

“SHIT!” I yelled. I quickly rolled up the bottom of my sweatpants and looked at my leg but, there was no bruise, cut, or any indication that I had been hurt. Am I going crazy? I stood up and my leg hurt so badly.

“Babe what are you doing?” Lindsay said now looking at me since the movie was done.

“Nothing”  I snapped harshly and limped to the bathroom leaving her gaping at me.

I walked in the bathroom and closed the toilet seat. Then I sat on it and started rubbing my leg.

“Ow. Ow...OW!” I yelled since I was feeling around my leg until I found the spot that hurt the most. I looked at it and saw nothing there. What the hell is happening?!
