Chapter 1007
The door swung open, and Auroraâs voice echoed from the direction of the living room, âTyler, why did
you take so long to answer the door? Could it be that youâre hiding a woman in the room?â Aurora
teased.
Upon hearing Auroraâs words, Vickyâs nerves tensed. Even her breath became slightly erratic.
Tyler replied in a cool and calm voice, âNo. I went to the bathroom just now and didnât hear anything.â
Aurora did not press the matter. Instead, she asked, âThe servants just came by and said that breakfast
is ready. Letâs go downstairs for breakfast.â
Tyler responded with a casual acknowledgment.
Footsteps could be heard fading away, indicating that the two of them were leaving. However, as if
recalling something, the sound of those high heels came to a halt.
Auroraâs voice was hesitant, as if she had something to say but was holding back, âTyler⦠Did you see
Miss Shaw last night?â
âVicky?â
âYes.â Aurora hesitated for a moment before continuing,â Last night, my clothes got dirty, so I asked
Miss deliver a new change of clothes to Room 302.1 waited for her until late at night, but she never
showed upâ¦â
Tylerâs voice remained remarkably composed in response, âI havenât seen her.â
Aurora seemed to let out a sigh of relief and laughed,â Maybe she was busy with something else and
forgot, then.â
The conversation gradually faded away until the door to the room was closed.
Vicky, in a disheveled state, hid in the closet until she was certain they would not return before finally
stepping out.
With her clothes torn by Tyler, Vicky could not leave the room. Feeling helpless, she had to call Elijah to
ask for assistance in delivering a set of clothes. Elijah was good at avoiding suspicion and instructed a
maid to deliver the clothes.
After dressing herself neatly, Vicky left the room and found Elijah waiting outside the door.
She glanced at the room number and the look in her eyes darkened slightly as the number plate by the
door showed number 303.
Noticing that Vicky was staring at the number dazedly, Elijah asked, âVicky? Whatâs wrong?â
Vicky had never stayed the night in the Harrisonsâ house before and was not familiar with the interior,
so she asked,â Is this room⦠number 303?â
âThis is Room 303,â Elijah confirmed. Puzzled by her gaze, he asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
âItâs not Room 302?â
Elijah looked at Vicky in confusion. âNo, itâs Room 303.â
âHas this room always been 303? It never changed?â
âYes. The room number has always been the same. Vicky, whatâs the matter?â
Vicky stared at Room 303, her gaze focused and silent.
She distinctly remembered that the room number was 302 last night. How did it change to 303
overnight? She wondered if the dim lighting in the corridor and her exhaustion had caused her to
misread it.
Vicky took a step forward and walked to the door of Room 302. The two rooms were adjacent,
separated only by a wall, ruling out the possibility of her entering the wrong room. Vicky was unsure if
she had made a mistake.
She then recalled how Tyler accused her of drugging him and wondered what had actually happened.
