Chapter 1009
Just then, a crisp and melodious voice spoke up, âMiss Shaw and Mister Harrisons are such a
charming couple that
I envy them. Oh my, your bracelet looks wonderful. Itâs even prettier than the heirloom in my family.â
Vicky turned around and saw Aurora. Her gaze wavered and she instinctively averted her gaze.
Missus Harrisons said modestly, âItâs just a bracelet. Your ring, however, is far more magnificent, Miss
Starling. I heard that youâll be engaged to Mister Hart.â
Vicky did not notice it until it was mentioned and finally spotted the identical rings on Aurora and Tylerâs
fingers.
Her breath hitched abruptly.
âTyler and I have called off the engagement,â Aurora said.
Old Madam Harrisons was taken aback. âYou called it off?â
Aurora blushed and smiled coyly. âEngagement parties are too troublesome. Weâve decided to get
married directly.â
Vicky was momentarily stunned and instinctively raised her head, looking toward Aurora and Tyler.
As soon as she lifted her gaze, her gaze met that of a pair of deep, dark eyes. Tyler was staring at her,
seemingly without blinking, and she could not tell how long he had been doing so.
Aurora was seated next to Tyler and engaged in conversation with Old Madam Harrisons, oblivious to
the silent exchange between Vicky and Tyler. âI heard that Mister Harrisons and Miss Shaw are getting
married too. Is that right?â She asked.
Old Madam Harrisons smiled and replied, âYes. Itâs around the same time as your wedding, I believe.â
Aurora shifted her gaze lightly and looked at Vicky. âOur wedding dates are close, and I believe we can
share our experiences, Miss Shaw.â
The Starling family was a top-tier aristocratic family, so when Old Madam Harrisons heard this, she
naturally felt delighted and tried to get closer to Aurora. âElijah and Vicky were planning to try on
wedding dresses today. Since youâre all young people, why donât you all go together?â
Aurora laughed. âTrying on wedding dresses? What a coincidence. Iâm also going to try on wedding
dresses today. Mister Harrisons, Miss Shaw, are you still getting your wedding dresses from the same
shop as last time?â
Anyone who had been involved in wedding preparations knew that there was more than one wedding
dress for the day of the wedding.
There would be one for the registry, one for the ceremony, and one for the dinner, adding up to a total
of three dresses. Typically, the dress for the ceremony was the most magnificent and solemn.
Old Madam Harrisons exclaimed in surprise, âMiss Starling, do you know that bridal shop?â
âYes. Tyler and I ran into Mister Harrisons and Miss Shaw when we were looking at wedding dresses
there. Oh, rightâ¦â As if remembering something, Aurora added, âIt was that time when Mister
Harrisons and Miss Shaw were caught on camera.â
âIn that case, Miss Starling, would you mind if Elijah and Vicky go together with you?â Old Madam
Harrisons asked.
Aurora replied, âI donât mind it, of course! Both Miss Shaw and I are getting married. Itâs best to
exchange our experiences when we can be together.â
Vicky furrowed her brows slightly at the conversation between Old Madam Harrisons and Aurora. She
lowered her voice and said to Elijah, âWere we going to try on wedding dresses today? Why do I not
know about it?â
Elijah seemed embarrassed and apologetic. âUhm⦠I originally had plans with my girlfriend today, so I
made up an excuse to go try on wedding dresses with you. I did not get a chance to tell you before my
mother blurted it out. It seems like we have no choice but to go try on wedding dresses together today.â
Since Old Madam Harrisons and Aurora had already agreed on the plan, Elijah and Vicky had no
choice but to go along with it.
After breakfast, Old Madam Harrisons urged Vicky and Elijah to go try on wedding dresses.
Before they left, Old Madam Harrisons pulled Vicky aside.â Vicky, the Starling family holds a significant
position in the financial sector. If our Harrisons family wants to expand outward, we absolutely canât
offend the Starling family. If possible, you must establish a good relationship with them and avoid
provoking them.â
