Chapter 1021
Aurora watched the scene unfold without much interest before turning to look at Vicky.
Even though Vickyâs sunglasses and face mask were covering her face, Aurora could still tell that she
was not in a good mood. She knew her mind was somewhere else, so she tapped her on the shoulder
and said, âItâs best to talk to him, lest there be any misunderstanding.â
Vicky nodded. She was happy to take her suggestion since she had been thinking about how to get out
of window shopping for quite a while.
âIâll be on my way then.â
âOkay. Goodbye.â
Once she got home, Vicky was about to call Elijah, but he beat her to it.
âVicky, Iâm sorry,â said Elijah remorsefully.
At that moment, Vicky had a splitting headache since she did not get enough rest the previous night.
Her exhaustion was compounded by the fact that she still went shopping with Aurora for most of the
day.
She massaged her temples. âDid you leave in a hurry because of her?â
âYvette and I have made plans to meet up previously, but I canceled on her because my family asked
me to bring you home for dinner at the last minute. As for today⦠we had plans to meet up too but⦠I
had to cancel on her againâ¦â answered Elijah in a small voice.
Vicky knew Elijah had a date with his girlfriend today, but he had to cancel at the last minute because
he had to go to the bridal shop with Tyler and the others.
âShe got mad at me because I canceled on her one too many times so I⦠Iâ¦â
He did not have to tell her the rest of the story for her to know what happened. She did not blame Elijah
but instead said, âI know how hard it has been for you and your girlfriend lately. I mean, itâs okay if I was
the one who saw what happened, but if the media caught wind of it⦠Itâll be a lot harder to explain
then. As for Miss Starlingâ¦â
Vickyâs face darkened at the thought of Aurora.
âWhat should we do about⦠Miss Starling?â Elijah asked cautiously.
âIâll explain it to her but make sure you donât let the same thing happen again in the future,â Vicky
answered lightly.
âDonât worry. There wonât be a next time.â
âRemember to explain things to your girlfriend too.â
âWill do.â
After saying goodbye, Vicky was about to hang up the phone when Elijah called out her name, âVicky?â
âYes? Is there anything else?â
After a few seconds of silence, Elijah simply said, âIâm sorry.â
Vicky smiled. âItâs okay. Donât worry about it.â
Vicky immediately fell asleep after hanging up the phone. That was just how tired she was. She slept
through the whole night, and after a good nightâs rest, she felt better when she woke up the next
morning.
She picked up her phone and saw an unread message. It was from Aurora. She tapped on the
message and read, [ What did he say to you?]
Vicky wanted Aurora to help her keep it a secret, so after thinking about it, she called her. The phone
rang a few times before it was cut off by the Aurora.
A few seconds later, she received another text from Aurora.
[Sorry. I canât pick up the phone right now. Iâll call you back when Iâm free.]
[Okay.]
However, a full day passed, and Vicky did not receive a call from Aurora.
At night, Vicky was about to head to bed after taking her shower when her phone suddenly rang.
She picked up her phone and saw it was Aurora calling her.
As soon as she picked up the phone, she heard Auroraâs drunk voice saying, âVicâ¦ky, come outâ¦
and⦠and drink⦠with me.â
