The rain continued to pour. Without much thought, Vicky hung up the phone and rushed out of the door.

Aurora was drenched from head to toe. When Vicky saw her, she was sitting by the entrance, shivering

from the rain.

“Miss Starling.’1 Vicky took in Aurora’s disheveled appearance. “What are you doing here?”

Upon hearing Vicky’s voice, Aurora raised her head in surprise; rainwater trickled down her fair face,

giving her an air of desolation and vulnerability.

“Vicky, you… You actually came out?” Just now, when Vicky hung up, Aurora thought Vicky would

ignore her, so she did not expect Vicky to appear in front of her face.

Vicky could have refused Aurora’s request to stay, but seeing Aurora completely drenched, she could

not bring herself to heartlessly turn her away.

In the end, she let out a soft sigh. “It’s cold outside. Why don’t you come in for now?”

After they entered the house, Vicky settled Aurora in a guest room and found a set of unworn clothes

for her. i

“You should go and take a hot bath to prevent catching a cold. I’ll make some hot tea for you while you

shower.”

Aurora watched as Vicky walked away and called out, “V- vicky.”

Vicky paused and turned to look at her. “Yeah?”

Aurora hesitated, her eyes filled with a multitude of emotions that Vicky could not decipher. Finally, she

lowered her head. “I’m sorry.”

Vicky thought she apologized for causing trouble by coming alone unannounced, so she smiled at

Aurora and gently shook her head. This implying that what she did was not something to apologize for.

After leaving the guest room, Vicky went to the kitchen to prepare a cup of hot tea for Aurora.

Suddenly, she heard a faint sound of the front door closing coming from the direction of the mansion’s

entrance. Vicky thought the sound was made by Aurora, so she hurriedly walked out of the kitchen.

However, when she saw a tall figure confidently walking in, Vicky froze.

“Tyler Hart, why are you here? And… How did you know the password for my door lock?”

Tyler glanced at her and took out a bunch of keys. “Does it look like the door is only accessible with a

password?”

Smart locks usually came with a set of keys for emergency purposes. After divorcing Tyler, Vicky

changed the password but did not replace the lock.

She thought that since it was Tyler who proposed the divorce, he would not think to use such a method

to come back. Therefore, she thought that changing the password would be more than enough to keep

him out. She did not expect him to shamelessly use the keys to access what was now her house.

Vicky held back for a moment, but in the end, she could not contain herself.

“I did not give you permission to enter this place. This is breaking in and trespassing!”

Tyler held the key and said, “I came inside with a key, so technically, I didn’t break in.”

Vicky was furious at his excuse and decided to change the lock when she had the time.

He seemed to have read her thoughts and said, “Even if you surround this place with thick metal walls,

you can’t stop me from getting in.”

Vicky knew that Tyler was not bluffing as his status allowed him to go wherever he pleased.

“Tyler, you were the one who asked for a divorce, so why are you bothering me right now?” She glared

into his eyes with a coldness like he had never seen in the past. “Whatever we had between us ended

on the day we filed for divorce.”
