Chapter 1038
Vicky thought Aurora was worrying about explaining the situation to Tyler and said, âI will personally
explain everything to him tomorrow. You donât have to worry.â
âItâs not about that. Itâsâ¦â Aurora seemed unsure of how to phrase it and ended up saying, âCan you
come downstairs?
You can take a look at it yourself.â
Downstairs?â Vicky thought and was about to ask for further clarification when she realized that the call
had already been disconnected.
Puzzled, Vicky descended the stairs and almost slipped when she spotted Tyler and Aurora sitting on
the couch.
Fortunately, she was near the bottom of the stairs, so the fall was not too severe.
When Aurora saw her stumble, she quickly got up from the couch to help her up.
However, the man beside her moved even quicker, striding toward Vicky and picking her up in his
arms.
Seeing Tyler and Aurora at her house was already shocking enough for Vicky, so the fact that she was
being carried by Tyler in front of Aurora shook her to her core.
Vicky struggled and demanded, âTyler, let me go. I can walk on my own.â
Tyler scowled, but he did not release her. Instead, he carried her to the couch.
Aurora seemed unaware of anything amiss and focused her gaze on Vickyâs feet, exclaiming, âOh my,
Vicky, your foot is injured⦠Wait here, Iâll go and get the first aid kit.â
With that, she got up and entered the guest room she was in earlier to search for the first aid kit.
She moved so swiftly that Vicky could not even call out to stop her in time.
Vicky had not twisted her ankle or suffered any abrasions. She had simply fallen, resulting in a slight
reddening of her skin, but there was no severe injury at all.
Once Aurora disappeared from sight, Vicky snapped out of her daze and struggled to free herself from
Tylerâs embrace.
She bumped into his wound in the process, and Tylerâs face turned slightly pale, his brows furrowing.
âVicky, if you dare to move again, Iâll settle the score with you right here and now.â
At the same time, Vicky noticed that the fresh white shirt Tyler had changed into was starting to stain
red.
She froze, and turned her face away, refusing to look at the wound on his chest. âTyler, you just had
surgery. Even if youâre eager to settle the score with me, canât it wait a few more days?â
Though her expression was cold, she readily refrained from moving around.
Tyler lowered his gaze to her and asked, âDoes this mean I can assume that youâre concerned about
me?â
Vicky could not comprehend his logic and turned to stare at him.
âHow confident are you that I wonât eventually kill you?â
He lifted an eyebrow. âWould you like to stab me again?â
Her breath hitched. âTyler Hart, are you a masochist or something?â
âYou like stabbing me, donât you? You might as well do it as many times as you want.â
Vicky thought back to what Tyler did to her when she lost her memories; how he pushed her buttons
and challenged her limits repeatedly.
However, as much as she resented him for it, she could not kill him for it; and he knew all of this.
âIs this one of your ways of getting revenge?â Vicky stared at him. âWhat do you want from me?â
âAurora begged for mercy on your behalf and asked me to forgive you,â he whispered into her ear. âOut
of respect for her, I will forget that this ever happened, butâ¦â
