Chapter 1055
âI feel⦠like you donât really care about him,â Vicky remarked.
Letting her fiance spend time with his ex-wife and going off to film when he was injured did not seem
like something Aurora would do. When Vicky was in a relationship with Tyler, she had given up
important performances to take care of him when he fell ill, so she could empathize with Auroraâs
situation. She would never have left to film movies.
Aurora let out a sigh. âVicky, Iâll be honest with you. At first, I thought he was great. Heâs young,
successful in his career, and so handsome that any woman who sees him would be attracted to him.â
Vicky nodded. It was Tylerâs deceitful appearance that had fooled her when they were dating.
âBut when it comes to getting alongâ¦â Aurora hesitated, and looked at Vicky before continuing, âI find
him ratherâ¦
difficult.â
Vicky wanted to know what Aurora really thought of Tyler and asked, âWhat do you think of him?â
Auroraâs face showed a hint of conflict as she replied tactfully, âHeâs not the easiest person to get along
with.â
Vicky was far more experienced than Aurora when it came to how difficult Tyler might be. âThatâs just
the way he is. Once you both understand each other, itâll be betterâ¦â
Vickyâs words were interrupted by Auroraâs agitated interruption, âI donât want to understand him!â
Vicky looked at Aurora in astonishment. âMiss Starlingâ¦â
Even if Vicky were slow to catch on, she could sense that something was off between Aurora and Tyler.
Aurora looked at Vicky with conflicted emotions, struggling to find the right words. When she caught a
glimpse of the troubled expression on Vickyâs face, she seemed to have made a decision and took a
deep breath. âVicky, actually, things between Tyler and I arenât what you think. Weâ¦â
Before Aurora could finish her sentence, a deep, chilling voice came from the direction of the door,
interrupting the words that were about to leave her mouth, âWhat are you talking about? Whatâs taking
you two so long?â
Auroraâs voice faltered, and she turned her head to look at the tall and handsome figure standing at the
kitchen door. Feeling as though she had been doused with cold water, Aurora instantly snapped out of
it.
âItâs nothing.â Aurora gradually regained her composure. âI was just chatting with Miss Shaw about
some interesting things related to filming.â
Tylerâs tone suddenly softened. âOh, really? I thought you were still angry at me.â
Aurora lifted her eyes, and when she met Tylerâs half-smile, a shiver ran down her spine. âWhy⦠why
would I be?â Aurora tugged at the corners of her mouth, forcing a strained smile. âI shouldnât have gone
to film when you were injured and neglected in your care. Itâs normal for you to be angry with meâ¦â
Tyler looked at her for a moment, then shifted his gaze to Vicky. âIf you are done chatting, letâs go back
to eat.â
With that, he turned to leave, and Vicky turned her attention back to Aurora. âMiss Starling, what were
you trying to say?â
Aurora said gloomily, â Nothing. This is entirely my fault.
Alright, letâs not talk about this anymore. Letâs eat, Vicky.â
After dinner, Aurora called out to Vicky and asked, âVicky, can I stay here tonight?â
Tyler was already living in the house, so Vicky was relieved by the idea that Aurora was staying as well.
âSure, I will tidy the guest room for you,â she agreed.
Vicky was certain that Auroraâs presence in the house would prevent Tyler from acting out of line.
