Chapter 1059
Aurora walked habitually to the entrance of the hall and was about to knock on the door when she
heard voices from inside. i
âMother, has Mister Hart given any instructions lately?â It was Elijahâs father speaking.
Old Madam Harrisons responded, âNo. We can lay back for the next few days.â
Missus Harrisons complained, âThis is all Elijahâs fault. Why did he have to provoke Tyler Hart, of all
people? I mean, out of all the women he could have chosen, why did he have to pick Tyler Hartâs
woman to put on an act with?â
Elijah protested, âAt that time, Vicky said she was already divorced⦠and I was just asking her to help
with the act. Who couldâve known it would anger Tyler Hart? Itâs not entirely my fault either. Itâs also
Grandmotherâs fault for deceiving me about having a terminal illness just to get me married. I had no
choice but to hastily find someone.â
âEnough. Thereâs no point in talking about these things now.â Old Madam Harrisons sighed. âWeâll do
what Tyler instructs us to do. Although the acting part has been tiring, at least weâve managed to
recover the losses our family incurred before, so itâs not a bad thing.â
Mister Harrisons nodded. âTyler has indeed been generous. Without his financial aid, the Harrisons
would probably have
gone bankrupt before Grandmotherâs birthday.â
Missus Harrisons hesitated. âDidnât Tyler divorce Vicky? Why did he ask us to cooperate with this act? I
really donât understand what heâs trying to do.â
Old Madam Harrisons said, âThe more you know, the more danger you face. Itâs better to be ignorant of
certain things. By cooperating in this act, we can save our family, and thatâs to our advantage. I never
expected Vicky to hold such significance in Tyler Hartâs heart⦠Itâs truly extraordinary.â After a pause,
she added, âSince Tyler Hart cares so much about Vicky, do you think⦠we can take advantage of her
to gain more benefits for the Harrisons?â
Elijah hurriedly said, âGrandmother, please donât do anything rash. You donât know how ruthless he can
be⦠Heâs not someone to be trifled with. If we use Vicky to blackmail him, not only will we end up with
nothing, but weâll also suffer severe consequences.â
âVicky trusts our family a lot right now. Perhaps we can gain even more from thisâ¦â Old Madam
Harrisons muttered.
Mister Harrisons chimed in, âMother, donât be greedy. Despite Tylerâs young age, even the Hart familyâs
old patriarch regards him with caution and even pleads for his return. If you anger him, itâs equivalent to
opposing the entire Hart family.â
Old Madam Harrisons lamented regretfully, âNever mind, our family has already received enough
benefits. Letâs be careful from now on and make sure Vicky doesnât catch on.â
Missus Harrisons echoed, âElijah, you must remember to keep your distance from Vicky. If Tyler thinks
that something is going on between you two, our family will definitely face a catastrophic disaster.â
âMom, donât worry. Whenever I meet Vicky, I will report to Mister Hart and follow his instructionsâ¦â
Before Elijah could finish his sentence, the doors of the hall were suddenly pushed open.
The Harrisons were taken aback. Their faces instantly changed when they saw Vicky, who appeared
cold and frosty.
âV- V- Vicky?â Elijah stammered, unable to speak properly. âY â You⦠What are you doing here?â
Vicky scanned the shocked and uneasy expressions of the Harrisons. âSurprised?â
The Harrisons exchanged glances, unable to hide their guilty expressions.
It was Old Madam Harrisons who regained her composure before everyone else and shot Vicky a
friendly smile. âVicky, what brought you here?â
Vicky studied the kind look on Old Madam Harrisonsâ face and felt out of place.
It was no wonder that the Harrisons had been so kind to her that it barely felt real. It was not until this
moment that she realized everything had been an act.
Not wanting to beat around the bush any longer, she said, âI heard everything.â
Old Madam Harrisons looked away for a split moment and sighed, âSince youâve overheard us, thereâs
no point in hiding anything. Vicky, please come over.â
Vicky remained standing in place for a while before walking over.
She had never imagined coming across the truth twice in a row on the same day.
Choosing to sit on a seat that was furthest away from the others, she said, âGo on, then. When did you
all start partnering with Tyler to fool me?â
