Chapter 1142
Tyler stared intently at Vicky and reached out in disbelief after a while.
His touch and gaze were far too invasive, and Vicky slowly woke up. She was not surprised by the
sight of Tyler, but she noticed his peculiar expression.
âWhatâs wrong?â she asked.
Tyler lowered his gaze and concealed his emotions.â Nothing,â he said hoarsely. âIâm just checking your
temperature.â
Vicky observed him suspiciously, but Tylerâs expression showed nothing was amiss.
Vicky did not think too much about it and tried to free herself from his embrace, intending to get out of
bed.
Tyler held her back. âWhere are you going?â
âTo freshen up.â
Tyler glanced at her. âAre you able to walk?â
After waking up today, Vicky felt much better and more energetic than before, so she did not think there
would be any problem with getting out of bed.
She nodded and sat up.
Tyler watched her without trying to stop her. Once Vicky put on her slippers and tried to stand, her legs
suddenly went weak. Just as she was about to fall, a long, strong hand supported her.
âYour temperature may have gone down, but youâre still frail, â he said calmly. He gently placed her
back on the bed. âJust lie down for now. Iâll go get some water.â
Vicky thought she had recovered, but she could not even walk.
Recognizing her condition, she did not insist on going to the bathroom on her own.
Tyler headed toward the bathroom, while Vicky spoke up,â Itâs too dark in the room. Can you pull back
the curtains?â
Tyler paused for a moment, and he walked over to the floor- to-ceiling window and pulled back the
curtains. However, he only opened the blackout curtains, revealing the light and sheer curtains behind
them.
Vicky was puzzled. âWhy didnât you pull them all open?â
He replied calmly, âItâs blazing outside. Considering your current weak state, I donât want you to get
heatstroke.â
Vicky had not expected that even a blunt man like Tyler would consider such careful details.
Regardless, she did not want to remain sick in bed for longer than necessary, so she did not argue.
After about 10 minutes, Tyler came out of the bathroom carrying a basin of water.
Given Vickyâs condition, she could only wash herself simply- and taking a shower was out of the
question.
After taking care of her morning routine, Tyler made a phone call.
âPrepare two sets of breakfasts,â he instructed calmly.â Make one of them light.â
Vicky glanced at Tyler, silently concluding that Tyler might still be in a bad mood from yesterdayâs
incident if he was not planning to cook.
Seeing Tyler hang up the phone, Vicky spoke up, âCan you bring my phone to me?â
