Chapter 1224
âWhereâs Tyler?â Vicky turned pale instantly.
âWhat happened to him? Is heâ¦â
Aurora knew Vicky had it all wrong, so she quickly explained, âVicky, stop. The doctors are trying to
save him right nowâ¦â
Aurora quickly realized she had not worded her sentence properly. It was as if she was saying Tyler
was not dead yet. She was trying to think of a better way to tell Vicky when Vicky suddenly ripped off
the IV needle in her arm.
âWhere is he? Bring me to him!â
âBut you should restâ¦â
âIâm fine!â
The thought of Tylerâs life hanging by the thread made her panic. She looked pleadingly at Aurora.
âMiss Starling, can you please bring me to him? N
Aurora could not say no to Vickyâs big sad puppy eyes. She thus nodded and said, âOkay, Iâll take you
to see him.â
Harry was alone in the hospital corridor, outside of the surgery room. At the sound of footsteps, he
turned to look and saw Vicky, being supported by Aurora, walking over.
âMaâam.â He immediately stood up and greeted Vicky.
âHow is he? Is he in a serious condition?â asked Vicky shakily when she noticed the red surgery light
was still on.
Hesitation appeared on Harryâs face, which made Vickyâs heart instantly turn cold.
âHarry, tell me whatâs going on with Tyler right now!â
After a brief silence, Harry replied, âThe fact that Mister Hart suffered a major blow due to the impact
was bad enough, but coupled with being shot three timesâ¦â
Vickyâs pupils shrank. âThree times? I thought it was only once.â
Harry looked deeply into Vickyâs eyes. âThe doctor took out three bullets from Mister Hartâs body.â
Vicky immediately went weak in the knees and would have fallen to the floor had Aurora not caught
her.
âThenâ¦how is he right now?â
âThe doctor is doing his best to save him. Please donât worry too much, Maâam.â
Vicky got to know from Aurora that she had been unconscious for a day.
âI have been out for one day, and Tylerâs still not out of the surgery room⦠He must be in very critical
condition, thenâ¦â thought Vicky.
It was true she wanted to free herself from him, but not like this.
âNo, this canât be possible. How can he die just like that?â To her, Tyler had become some sort of
omnipotent figure, one that she could never shake off in this life.
By then, Vickyâs face had turned as white as a ghost, and she was shaking nonstop.
Aurora noticed this and immediately tried to comfort her. âVicky, donât worry. Iâm sure Tyler will be okay.â
What she did not dare to tell Vicky was the doctor had told them to prepare for the worst three times.
Vicky forced herself to give a little nod.
âWhy donât you take a seat first? The surgery wonât end anytime soon. Itâll be bad if you faint again
when Tyler comes out,â said Aurora.
âOkay.â
Aurora led her to the chairs lining up the hospital corridor.
It was Harry who asked Aurora to come since Vicky needed someone to take care of her. Both Cece
and Jennifer were not in the country, and Harry would never ask any of Vickyâs guy friends, so the only
logical choice left was Aurora.
To her credit, Aurora rushed to the hospital as soon as she got the call from Harry.
After sitting, Vicky felt a little calmer. She looked at Aurora and said,â Thank you, Aurora.â
