Chapter 1257
Sensing Vickyâs hesitation, Harvey asked, âIs something bothering you? Are you not free today?â
Vicky considered for a moment and finally replied, âNo, Iâm free. Where should we meet?â
âAt our usual place,â Harvey replied.
Vickyâs memories had already returned, so she knew where Harvey was referring to.
âAlright,â replied Vicky before ending the call.
After changing into a different outfit, Vicky came out of her room and ran into Tyler on her way
downstairs.
Even though Tyler had been discharged from the hospital, his injuries were not fully healed. During this
time, he had been resting at home and familiarizing himself with work related to Hart Corporation.
Due to Tylerâs amnesia, their relationship was somewhat awkward, so they had days. Though, Tyler
hardly showed any opposition to this arrangement.
Seeing Vicky holding her handbag, ready to go out, a barely noticeable frown appeared on Tylerâs face.
âAre you going out?â
Vicky nodded. She had not gone out much apart from going grocery shopping.
He studied her face intently and asked, âWhere are you going?â
âIâm meeting a friend,â Vicky replied. âIâve already packed lunch in a thermos, so you donât need to wait
for me.â
Having said that, Vicky picked up her bag and prepared to leave, only for Tyler to grab her wrist after
she took a few steps forward.
Tylerâs low voice reached her ears, and he sounded displeased. âNo, you canât go.â
Vicky was taken aback and turned to look at Tyler. âWhat do you mean?â
Tyler lowered his gaze to her. âYou canât leave me alone at home.â
Vicky was puzzled. âCanât you stay home alone?â
After a brief silence, Tyler said, âIâve lost my memory. You canât leave me alone at home.â
Vicky blinked blankly. âYou lost your memory, but that doesnât mean you canât be alone at home.
Besides, even if Iâm at home, youâre usually in the study, working⦠It doesnât make much of a
difference.â
He pursed his lips in displeasure and questioned, âYou promised to take care of me until I recover. I
havenât recovered yet, and youâre already planning to run away?â
Vicky felt exasperated. âIâm not planning to run away. Iâm just meeting a friend. Iâll be back in the
evening.â
âIn the evening?â Tyler narrowed his eyes darkly. âWho are you meeting that you need to spend that
much time with? Vicky, donât tell me itâs another man.â
Vicky twitched slightly, and Tylerâs expression instantly darkened. âVicky, weâre still not divorced, and
youâre already openly looking for someone else?â
âCan you stop being so harsh with your words? I already said itâs a friend. Canât I have a few friends of
the opposite sex?â
Tyler sneered. âThereâs no such thing as a pure friendship between a man and a woman. Itâs just an
excuse to cover up affairs.â
âThatâs just your opinion.â She pinched the bridge of her nose, feeling irritated by how difficult Tyler
became after he lost his memories. âIâve already made an appointment with him. I am going to be late.â
She brushed his hand off and said, âIâm leaving now.â
Tyler reached out to grab her wrist again and refused to let go. âWhy do the two of you need so much
time together?â
His cold tone made Vicky feel like she was suffocating, and she thought to herself, âEven without his
memories, he hasnât changed one bit.â âTyler, Iâm not your prisoner. Iâm not required to report every
detail of my life to you.â The look in her eyes hardened as she drawled, âI have a social life of my own,
and you have no right to interfere with that.â
