Chapter 1375
Jennifer wiped away her tears. âAnthony is so good to me when Lilyâs not around. Thus, even though I
knew heâd forget me once Lily came back, I still canât help but have feelings for himâ¦
âLast time, after Anthony helped me and Cece leave the city, he told me his feelings for Lily werenât
what everybody thinks it was. He doesnât love her, yet heâd be unable to control himself whenever he
sees her in trouble.â
Jenniferâs eyes dulled by then.
âIâd always forgive Anthony âcause I canât bear to see him sad. That was, until that one time⦠We went
to a yacht party, and he chose to save Lily instead of me when we both fell into the sea. I gave up on
him after that, and I blocked him out of my life.
âBut it wasnât long before I heard from my parents that Anthony decided to cut ties with his family
because of Lily.
âMy dad also said the Yavners are loyal people. Anthonyâs dad nearly went mad because of a woman,
and it seemed like Anthony was following in his dadâs footsteps.
âA new client contacted me not long ago, but itâ¦was Anthony. I didnât want to make business dealings
with him, but he asked me how I could mix business with personal matters. Iâd be hurting the studioâs
profit if I did that, and thatâd make me a bad employee.
âAfter thinking about it, I decided to take his business. I have no choice but to resume contact with him
to discuss the designs, though I made sure to keep it professional. This leads us to what happened this
afternoon.
âI found out he was undergoing more hypnotization from Lily when I went to deliver the finished clothing
to him. I overheard Lily talking to her friend from the door. It turns out this was all Lilyâs plot against
Anth-no, the entire downfall of the Yavners.â
âWhy does Lily hate the Yavners so much?â Vicky asked.
Lily shook her head. âIâm not too sure about it, but I heard Lily say something about how her mother
died at the hands of Anthonyâs father⦠So as revenge, she wanted the Yavners to be left without
anything.
âI gasped when I heard that, and thatâs how they knew I was there. I ran away as quickly as I could, but
Lily still caught me. Anthony saved me just when she was about to kill meâ¦â
Jennifer hung her head low. âEven though he acts like a dirtbag whenever Lily is around, he never once
wanted me dead. Itâs thanks to him that I escaped.â
Vicky understood everything then. She looked at Jennifer.â Even if you know the truth, you canât just
break it to Anthony so suddenly. Heâll never believe you. Plus, Lily would surely come up with a
countermeasure now that she knows you know.â
âI know.â Jennifer looked desolate. âTo be honest, I donât know what I should do either.â
The hypnotization effect seemed to have kicked in again. Anthony might have saved her, but his
attitude cooled toward her after that. He even returned the clothes she made for him. Thus, Jennifer
knew he would never believe a word she said-not when Lily was concerned.
âYou can try to undo the hypnotization effect first before telling him the truth. This way, that Lily woman
wonât be able to control him anymore,â said Harvey suddenly.
Jenniferâs eyes immediately lit up. âThat⦠That might work!â
