Chapter 1382
Tyler did not say much and simply asked, âHave you eaten?â
âI came after having lunch.â
Tyler set the documents in his hand on the desk and asked casually, âAre you going back in the
afternoon?â
âYeah. There are still some things to take care of at the studio, so Iâll need to head back later,â she
replied, âbut Iâm not in a rush.â
After a few moments of silence, Vicky whispered, âAm I getting in the way?â
âNo.â Tyler glanced at the clock. âMy next meeting is scheduled at two. Iâm free until then.â
âThatâs good, then.â
Just then, there was a knock on the door, and Harry stepped in with a pile of documents. âMister Hart,
here are the documents related to the buyout of Johnson Corporationâ¦â
He spotted Vicky sitting on the couch and paused in his sentence. Nonetheless, he swiftly smiled and
said,â Welcome, Missus Hart.â
He regained his composure swiftly, but Vicky still caught the peculiar fleeting look in Harryâs eyes.
She nodded, and Harry simply handed the file he held to Tyler.
Tyler casually glanced through it and set the materials on his desk.
After exchanging greetings with both of them, Harry left.
Once Harry was gone, Vicky casually asked, âHas Hart Corporation come up with any new acquisition
plans recently?â
âAcquisitions are a lengthy process, and
Vicky sensed his reluctance to elaborate, so she refrained from further inquiries.
She headed to the tea counter, where she boiled a pot of water. She would always brew a pot of tea for
Tyler after lunch.
The water quickly boiled, its vapor rising into the air and dissipating.
After steeping the tea leaves, Vicky lifted her head and noticed Tyler was engrossed in the documents
he was reading, seemingly unaware of her presence.
As she poured the tea and let it cool to a suitable temperature, she brought the cup over.
Unfortunately, she did not grip the cup firmly enough. With a â clinkâ, the cup fell to the floor, splashing
hot water onto the back of her hand.
âAh!â yelped Vicky.
Just as she was about to search for the fallen cup, Tyler
grabbed her hand.
His defined features came into her view. His expression was tense, his gaze intense, and his lips were
pressed together tightly.
âWhere are you hurt?â His voice had a tinge of coldness.
âIâm alright.â
The temperature of the tea had cooled just enough to be drinkable, so the splash merely caught her
off-guard.
Nonetheless, Vickyâs delicate skin turned slightly red due to the water.
Nevertheless, Tylerâs expression remained exceedingly stern. He fetched a medical kit and diligently
applied a cooling ointment to the back of her hand.
Observing his focused expression, Vicky felt touched. âIâm fine,â she said softly. âItâs just a bit red now,
but itâll fade in a little while.â
After applying the ointment, Tyler looked at her again with emotions in his eyes she could not decipher.
