Chapter 1404
Vicky relaxed and asked gently, âAre you coming home for dinner tonight?â
âIâm free tonight.â
Vicky unfastened her seatbelt and kissed Tylerâs cheek. âTil be waiting for you at home, then.â
Tyler hummed in response.
Once she got out of the car, Vicky stood as she watched Tylerâs car drive off. She remained still for a
few more moments before turning to step into a restaurant to order food.
The new studio Tyler bought for her was located at the center of the city with great views and
transportation everywhere.
Vicky packed the food she ordered and walked back to her studio.
When she knocked on the door to the lounge, a melodious voice responded, âCome in.â
She went inside and asked, âHow are you feeling today? Are your wounds still hurting?â
âIâm fine now.â
Despite trying to appear nonchalant, Harveyâs slightly weakened voice and his pale face betrayed his
true condition.
The environment in Vickyâs studio was certainly not on par with a hospital. Even though Ted had
prepared a good amount of medication, the lack of medical equipment for auxiliary treatment meant
Harvey was not receiving sufficient care.
Vicky placed the packed breakfast on the table. âYou should stick to light food for now. I bought you
some soup.â
âThank you.â
Vicky brought out the breakfast from the bag. âStart with something.â
âAlright,â said Harvey, raising his hand to take the soup from Vickyâs hands.
The two bullets had hit his shoulders, making even the simplest motion challenging.
Seeing a layer of cold sweat forming on his forehead and the way his face paled, Vicky hesitated for a
few seconds before suggesting, âLet me feed you.â
There was a slight flicker in Harveyâs deep gaze.
âI spoke with Tyler yesterday⦠Heâs agreed to spare you,â said Vicky, holding a spoon to Harveyâs lips.
âAfter you finish eating, you can contact your subordinates to pick you up.â
Harvey seemed somewhat surprised. âTyler agreed to that?â
âYes.â
âI know him. He doesnât change his mind so easily,â Harvey said weakly. âDid you make a deal with
him?â
Vicky paused for a moment. After a brief silence, she confessed, âI promised him that I wonât meet or
contact you from now on.â
The air grew still, and neither of them spoke.
Harvey had lost a considerable amount of blood and had not received a timely blood transfusion,
leaving him extremely weak. Consuming his breakfast seemed to have exhausted all the strength he
had left.
âRest for a while. Once youâre feeling better, you can call your subordinates,â she said.
Harvey was indeed reaching his limits and nodded. âThank you.â
After waking up from a nap hours later, Harvey opened his eyes and found Vicky placing food she
bought on the table.
Surprised to see him awake, Vicky said, âAwake already?â
âYeah.â Harvey looked toward the window and noticed the overcast sky, rain seemingly drizzling
outside. âWhat time is it?â
âItâs one in the afternoon,â Vicky replied. âLetâs have lunch.â
âAlright.â
Vicky continued to feed Harvey his lunch. After a morningâs rest, his spirits had somewhat improved.
