Chapter 1524
Workers like Vicky and Jennnifer were not allowed to enter from the main entrance, so they entered
from the back door instead. After that, Linaâs personal assistant led them into a room to wait for her.
Lina might not be the bride, but because of her status, she was allowed to have more than one set of
bridesmaid dresses. She would change into three dresses in total: One for before the wedding, one for
during the wedding, and one for after the wedding.
After Vicky and Jennifer finished ironing the remaining two sets of bridesmaid dresses, they liaised with
the hair and makeup artists to make sure they were on the same page before waiting quietly for Lina to
come back.
An hour later, she appeared in the room, looking upset. Even though her dress was the prettiest
amongst the bridesmaids, it was nothing compared to the brideâs. She had expected this, but it still
stung.
After changing into the second dress, Lina said, âThe ceremony is going to take some time, so you girls
can go attend if you want.â
âReally?â Jennifer was indeed curious about the wedding.
âYeah. But you can only sit in the seats reserved for workers. You know what? I insist you two come.
That stupid b*tch might do something to my dress, so you two can rush over to help me if that
happens.â
Vicky and Jennifer nodded as they understood what she meant. To be honest, they had seen their fair
share of catfights at weddings. Scorned exes would pour wine down the brideâs dress, some frenemies
would push each other down, and there was even one case where a bridesmaid slashed the strap
holding up the wedding dress which resulted in a naked bride.
In the backstage corridor, Vicky was just about to go to the main hall when she received a phone call.
âYou go first. I have to take this call,â she said to Jennifer.
âAlright.â
The call was from one of Vickyâs employees, asking about some work-related matter, and it took quite a
while for her to finish the call.
By the time she hung up the phone, âWedding Marchâ was already playing in the main hall. Being a
piano aficionado herself, she could tell the song was played on a real live piano by a very talented
pianist.
Since her seat was in a very hidden corner, away from the guests, no one noticed her tardiness.
Vicky sat carefully beside Jennifer and asked, âHas the ceremony begun?â
âVicky, I⦠I think I left my phone in the dressing room. Would you mind going with me to take it?â asked
Jennifer awkwardly while avoiding her gaze.
Vicky noticed Jennifer was holding her phone in her hand.â Jennifer, your phone is right there in your
hand!â
Realizing her mistake, Jenniferâs face became even more pale.
âVickyâ¦â She was about to say something when the hostâs voice rang across the main hall.
âLadies and gentlemen, welcome to the wedding of Mister Tyler and Miss Avery!â
Vickyâs expression froze. Her head spun and saw Tyler and Averyâs pre-wedding photos rolling across
the big screen monitor. There were also pictures of them at the door, but because Vicky entered
through the backdoor, she did not get the chance to see them or the bride and groomâs names. After
all, who would put their pre-wedding photos at the backdoor or the dressing room? 2
Jennifer looked at Vicky worriedly. âVicky, are you okay?â
She had just discovered who the bride and groom were a few moments before Vicky. Along the way to
the main hall, she was busy texting Cece, so she did not really take in her surroundings.
When she did find out, it was already too late.
