Chapter 1564
âShe feels so much like someoneâ¦â
Avery inquired, âLike who?â
Tyler shook his head. âIâm not sure, but I just have this feeling, like Iâve forgotten something.â
âForgotten something?â Averyâs breathing became more erratic. âTyler, why do you feel this way?â
âIâve noticed that my memories are somewhat disjointed. I can sometimes catch glimpses of bits and
pieces, but I canât quite recall them.â
Averyâs breaths quickened.
Tylerâs reaction indicated that the memories suppressed by the hypnosis were starting to loosen. Being
physically close to Vicky caused him to remember some fragments, but it was uncertain what those
memories truly entailed.
âNo, this canât persist!â she thought.
âI heard from Grandfather that you were involved in a car accident before⦠Could that be the reason
behind your forgotten memories?â
Tyler pondered for a moment. âThe memories of the accident are indeed fuzzy.â
âTyler, I specialize in this field. If you feel your memory is compromised, why not let me try hypnosis on
you?â Averyâs
voice turned gentle. âWho knows? You might recall something.â
âForget it.â Tyler seemed uninterested in delving deeper.â Since Iâve forgotten, it must be trivial matters.
Thereâs no need to bother with it.â
Avery did not insist and understood his stance. âAlright, take some rest. Iâll find some aromatherapy for
you.â
âSure.â
Avery calculated the time. When she returned from the room, Tyler was already asleep on the couch.
Glancing at the half-empty tea cup on the coffee table, her smile was absent this time.
Over the past year, she had clearly sensed that her hypnosis was becoming less effective on Tyler.
Every time he began to remember something, she would use various means to reinforce the hypnosis,
which included the tea and the aromatherapy in her hand.
Averyâs expression grew dark and unsightly.
The restrictions of the hypnosis on Tyler were weakening. Sooner or later, he would remember
something. With Vicky in close proximity, Avery knew that she needed to act.
She must have some leverage. Once she became pregnant with Tylerâs child, even if he remembered
everything, he would not be able to cast her aside.
Avery gritted her teeth, having no option but to subject Tyler to hypnosis once again.
âTyler⦠Tylerâ¦â A womanâs melodious voice awakened Tyler.
Tyler opened his eyes. Through his blurred vision, it was as if he was gazing at a familiar face.
Subconsciously, he grabbed the womanâs wrist.
âTyler, be gentle⦠Youâre hurting me.â Although the woman complained, her voice carried a hint of
delight.
Tylerâs gaze grew clearer. âAvery.â
The curve of Averyâs lips deepened at the realization that he did not mistake her for someone else.
âTyler, are you tired? Why are you sleeping on the couch?â
He let go of her wrist and rubbed the bridge of his nose.â What time is it now?â
âItâs past midnight,â she said gently. âWhy donât you stay the night here?â
Tyler frowned, wanting to refuse, but found that his voice had failed him.
Overjoyed, Avery assumed that her hypnosis had worked.
