“The culprit always seemed to be able to know my whereabouts everytime I went somewhere. The

probability of this being an inside job within our Hart family is quite high. ” Tyler looked at his parents

with a small smile as he looked at them ominously. “Who could harbor such deep-seated hatred

against me?”

“Tyler, you have become the enemy of a lot of members of our family by taking control of the Hart

family’s power. Many would want to get rid of you,” Orion explained.

Tyler leaned back. “According to my investigation, however, those who attempted to assassinate me

did so under Lincoln’s command.”

Valencia’s gaze flickered for a moment before she said, ” Someone is framing Lincoln! Their goal is to

turn you two against each other, and they’d reap the benefits while you fight.”

Orion nodded in agreement. “Yes, that seems likely.”

“I haven’t investigated this matter thoroughly yet. I’m not sure whether it’s a setup for now.” Tyler closed

the file in front of him. “Before we learn the truth, please take this document back.”

Valencia and Orion left the office with stern expressions.

Once they were out of the office, Orion could not hold back his anger. “Tyler has changed ever since

the wedding. While he wasn’t as dutiful as Lincoln over the years, Tyler was always respectful to us!”

“That weasel Avery must’ve instigated this!” Valencia’s eyes narrowed angrily. “Tyler’s former wife was

Tyler’s first love, so I can understand his infatuation toward her. But what about Avery?”

Recalling the disdainful attitude Avery exhibited when they last met, Valencia grew even more

disgusted. “That girl thinks she’s better than me! Does she really believe Tyler can’t live without her?”

Orion looked at Valencia. “It does seem like Tyler can’t live without her.”

“That’s because Tyler hasn’t seen that woman’s true face!” Valencia grew angrier as she spoke, “Even

Tyler’s former wife wouldn’t dare act as arrogantly as she does!”

Before Valencia could continue, the office door suddenly swung open and Tyler appeared in the

doorway. “Former wife?”

Valencia and Orion were both startled. “T-Tyler…?”

Tyler looked at the two. “What do you mean by ‘former wife’?

At noon, Avery arrived at the Hart Corporation building after learning that Valencia and Orion had been

there in the morning.

She had not been able to establish a bond with Valencia in the past years.

Two years ago, she once overheard Valencia trying to talk Tyler into canceling the engagement with

her and even went as far as to introduce other women to Tyler.

Avery had always known Valencia only chose to work with her back then to plan for Lincoln’s future, but

she was still furious when she heard Valencia calling her despicable and shameless.

Thankfully, Tyler was far more capable than Lincoln and managed to take control of the family in only

four years.

Because of that, Avery’s status in the Hart family rose with his.

Though she was rather worried that Tyler might cast her aside after he became the official head of the

family, she had tricks up her sleeve to ensure Tyler would not betray her.

She knocked on the door to Tyler’s office, but there was no response.
