Chapter 1609
Vicky slowly closed her eyes. A few seconds later, she said,â I understand.â
After the doctor left, Vicky took out her phone and intended to call Tyler. It was then she realized she
did not have his contact number.
She stared at her phone in bewilderment for a few seconds, then dialed Jenniferâs number. âVicky?â
It was late, and Jenniferâs voice sounded a bit drowsy.
âJennifer, lâdâ¦like to ask for your help.â
Jennifer could sense Vicky was troubled by her tone and quickly asked, âVicky, is something wrong?â
âYeah. Harvey got into an accident, and heâs in the emergency room right now.â Vickyâs voice sounded
strained. âThe doctor just came in and said the blood bank doesnât have enough blood, and they canât
get blood from other hospitals either. I want you to ask Anthony if thereâs any way around this.â
Without hesitation, Jennifer agreed, âVicky, donât worry, Iâll ask him right away.â
Vicky did not even have the strength to thank her.
About five minutes later, Jennifer called back. âVicky, Anthony said that all the blood that matched
Harveyâs blood type was taken away before the accidentâ¦â
Jennifer did not know the specifics, but when it came to a matter of life and death, she knew better than
to ask too many questions and softly conveyed all the facts she knew. â Anthony found out who took
the blood⦠It was Tyler.â
Even though she suspected it all along, hearing his name still sent a chill down Vickyâs spine.
âJennifer, could you please send me Tylerâs phone number?â
âSure.â
It seemed they had already managed to find Tylerâs contact information.
Right after hanging up the phone, Tylerâs number appeared on Vickyâs phone.
Vicky swiftly dialed the number.
The phone rang for a long time with no answer, despite Vicky trying several times.
10 minutes later, however, the call was finally answered.
âWho is this?â came a curt voice from the other end of the line.
Vicky tightened her grip around the phone. âItâs me. Vicky Shaw.â
After a few moments of silence, Tyler asked, âIs there something you need so urgently that you need to
call this late at night, Ms. Shaw?â
âTyler Hart, you know exactly why Iâm calling, so drop the act.
âOh? And why are you calling?â
âHarvey needs a blood transfusion, and you were the one who removed all the stock of his blood type
away from the blood bank, didnât you?â she gritted out.
âI donât really get what you are saying, Ms. Shaw.â
âSeems like he is determined to act dumb until the very end,â she thought. âThatâs right. Heâs not the
desperate one here.â âI will break up with him once he wakes up,â she gritted out.
