Chapter 1610
âBut you have such a great romance with Mister Sparks. I heard that you just accepted his proposal, so
why would you break up with him?â Tyler asked lazily.
Vicky clenched her fists and said, âBecause of the scandal some time ago, we had no choice but to put
up an act for the publicâs eyes.â
âAn act? The two of you went shopping for rings and had a date, didnât you?â
She lowered her gaze at the ring in her hand, tears welling in her eyes. âI will throw the ring away. I
wonât see him again.â
âThe public now thinks you are made for one another. If I remember correctly, you even announced the
date of your engagement party.â
âAfter everything settles down, Iâll announce through the press that Harvey and I broke up.â
âI donât enjoy being involved with a woman who has a boyfriend, so why donât you call me after you
announce that? It
Tyler then intended to end the call when Vicky stopped him.
âWait!â Vicky shouted and caved. âIâll make the announcement later.â
Tyler did not say a word and seemed to be considering something.
Vicky glanced at the glaring red âEmergency Roomâ sign and closed her eyes defeatedly. âWhatever
conditions or demands you have, Iâll agree to them.â
Tyler finally relented. âThen letâs sign an agreement for now.â
âWhere are you? Iâll find you,â she asked.
He gave the address, and Vicky stayed silent for a long time.
Sensing her hesitation, Tyler asked, âWhatâs wrong? Ms. Shaw, are you regretting your choice
already?â
âNo.â Vicky refocused. âTH be there right away.â
Glancing at the operating room one last time, Vicky left the hospital.
All was quiet in the middle of the night.
Vicky drove to a place she had not set foot in for four years.
The street lamps on either side emitted a faint light, and everything seemed unchanged from four years
ago.
She parked the car at the entrance and stared at the familiar mansion before her dazedly.
She never thought she would return.
Taking a deep breath, Vicky entered the mansion.
Due to the long absence of inhabitants, the place where she once lived felt deserted. The yard was
overgrown with weeds that seemed to have been left unmanaged, and the mansionâs door was tightly
shut.
No one answered after Vicky knocked a few times, so she took out her phone and dialed Tylerâs
number.
As she watched the phone ringing unanswered for a while, a hint of impatience rose within her.
Harvey was still waiting for the blood transfusion, and she did not have much time to waste on Tyler.
Staring at the keypad lock in front of her, Vicky hesitated for a few seconds, then entered the password
from four years ago.
Beep! The door to the room unexpectedly opened.
Vicky was stunned for a moment.
Although this mansion had been their marital home, Tyler rarely came here even back then. Yet, it was
always under his name.
She moved out after she agreed to Old Mister Hartâs proposal.
Under his arrangements, all traces of their wedding photos and her existence here had been wiped
away. It was as if she never existed in Tylerâs life.
Entering the room, she found that it was dark inside.
