Avery never expected Tyler to be that heartless. It was as if his mask was finally off, his true colors
revealed.
Avery knew part of the reason Tyler chose her was because of her familyâs fortune, but she did not
care. Her familyâs fortune was just as much as her as her beauty. She also knew there was a chance
Tyler might dump her after he rose to the position of head of the Hart family, but she told herself he was
a loyal man.
After all, he loved Vicky very deeply before he lost his memories, so he would surely be moved by how
Avery tirelessly sacrificed everything for him in the four years they had been together. This would make
him want to be with her forever, right?
At that moment, Avery realized just how wrong she was. She vowed to herself that she would ruin his
life if it was the last thing she did. All her love for him had morphed into pure, unadulterated hate.
She would make him pay even if it cost her everything!
Alana and Avery left Tylerâs office in a huff.
âThat Tyler is exactly like his grandfather!â said Alana angrily. âTheyâre both ungrateful b*stards! Tyler
wouldnât be where he is right now if it werenât for our familyâs support! He thinks he can kick us away
just because we have no more use to him? Well, he can dream on!â
Alana and Avery would not have been so angry if Tyler had been nicer in explaining or even come up
with an excuse for his decision. However, he was obviously too lazy to at least do that, so how could
they not hate him?
Avery gritted her teeth until they chattered. âIâm going to make him pay for playing with my feelings for
four years, even if it means Iâll ruin my life in the process!â
Before Avery came here, she had mentally prepared herself for the worst. After all, she knew what he
could be like after being with him for so many years. Not to mention, it would be completely
understandable for a man to turn down raising a baby that was not his.
She knew the negotiation outcome might not turn out the way she wanted. As much as she could not
accept it, she still knew that there was no other way than to grit her teeth and laid out her terms and
conditions to him.
However, she was not really that worried because she still had an ace up her sleeveâher ability to use
hypnotic control. She could force him to agree to raise the baby and figure out the rest later.
What pissed her off, howeverâ¦was his attitude.
âI must teach him a lesson!â snarled Avery with a scary glint in her eyes. âSo that heâll know whatâs the
outcome for messing with the Yeagers! Iâm going to make him beg me for forgiveness.â
She started to imagine Tyler crawling back on his knees to her to beg for forgiveness, and she could
not help but feel pleased with herself.Alana nodded. âYes, he needs to be taught a lesson and taken
down from his pedestal. Otherwise, heâll never concede!â
After they got home, they started to exaggerate how Tyler mistreated them to Vernon. They did not tell
him the baby Avery was carrying was not Tyler. Instead, they told Vernon Tyler did not want to accept
or take responsibility for the baby.
Vernon was incensed, of course. However, he was not that surprised as he had predicted something
like this would happen one day.
âI knew long ago that Tyler wouldnât be that easy to control,â said Vernon coldly. âAll these years, weâve
put him on a pedestal so high that he thought he could get to where he is without us. Itâs a good thing
we still have an ace up our sleeves. He canât blame us for ruining his life when heâs the one who forced
us to do that.â
In their discussion, the three of them concluded that they must do everything they could to stop his
wedding from happening. They wanted him to feel so tortured that he would not be able to sleep or eat.

Various media companies came out with an expose article about the huge problem plaguing the
projects handled by the Yeagers and the Harts. Since both of the families were the best among the
best, a problem like that would cause a rippling domino effect through the global industries. Many
businesses would have to close down or face bankruptcy.
