Vicky chuckled coldly. âBut why should I bear a child for you? After all the hatred, revenge, and
humiliation I suffered at your hands, no less?â
She quickly continued, âDonât look at me with that expression. Even if I did owe you something, it was
settled the day you decided to take revenge.â
âSettled?â Tyler found it absurd and sneered. âVicky, do you think weâre playing house here?â
If hatred could be so easily dispelled, why would there be grudges that lasted centuries?
âSo what? Are you planning to seek revenge on me for the rest of your life?â
Tyler looked down at her condescendingly. âVicky, after all these years, you havenât grown at all. Do
you think the wedding was the end? Youâre really naive.â
He smirked as he looked into her eyes and said, âItâs just the beginning.â
Vicky narrowed her eyes as she did not doubt the truth in Tylerâs words. âWhen did you regain your
memory?â
Tylerâs tone was indifferent. âDoes it matter?â
Indeed, it did not matter anymore.
Vicky chuckled bitterly. âTyler Hart, youâre truly remarkable. Itâs a shame youâre not an actor.â
She had fallen into his trap time and time again, healing her wounds only to forget the pain.
âIâm hardly as skilled in acting as you are, Ms. Shaw.â He sat by the bedside and continued in a
subdued tone, âI canât sweet-talk and make false promises as you do, then heartlessly abandon
someone. After all, there are things I canât say without feeling a psychological burden.â
Vicky trembled. âSo, may I ask what other means you have in store for me?â
Tyler fell silent for a moment. âGive birth to this child.â
âThen what?â
âOur grievances will end there.â
âAre you saying that if I give birth to this child, you will leave me alone?â
âYes.â
âAnd if I refuse?â
Tylerâs expression darkened.
âThereâs no âifsâ,â he said with a chilling tone. âFrom the day you conceived him, thereâs only one
choice. If you still want to secretly get rid of him behind my back or pull stunts like you did just nowâ¦â
His voice trailed off, and his malice-filled eyes fixed on her.
A sinister smile tugged at the corners of his lips. âVicky, I assume you wonât want an endless feud with
me, do you now?â
Vicky shuddered.
âKeeping a woman to bear my children is no problem at all for me. I believe you wouldnât want to keep
giving birth until you canât do it anymore, right?â
Vicky widened her eyes. âAre you threatening me?â
âYou know I always follow through on what I say,â Tyler replied indifferently. âDonât challenge my limits.
Do you understand?â
Vicky stared at his exquisite features, her lips trembling as she struggled to make a sound.
Tyler withdrew his gaze and turned back to his books.
â¦
For several days in a row, Tyler did not leave. It seemed like he wanted to avoid seeing her as he
mostly stayed in the study reading.
One day, Vicky heard loud noises coming from the adjacent room.
