âYou stayed up until this time just to talk to me about this?â
Vicky nodded, her expression determined. âItâs better to make things clear sooner or later.â
Tylerâs expression grew even colder.
âYou donât have to answer me in a hurry. Take your time to think it over, and then give me your
response,â Vicky added.
She stood up. âItâs getting late. Iâll rest now.â
Vicky displayed remarkable composure, even a sense of confidence.
For the sake of their child, Tyler had let go of hatred and his plans, so there was no reason for him not
to grant her freedom. At this point, their child was the most important thing to him, and a bond
connected by blood might just temper his extreme thoughts.
The following day, after a night of contemplation, Tyler eventually agreed to her proposal. âI accept your
terms, but with a modification,â he said indifferently. âYouâll stay here until you give birth, and I need to
ensure the safety of the childâs birth.â
Given Tylerâs domineering personality, he might not trust her outside of his watchful eyes. Furthermore,
she could sense that this was the last line of compromise she could reach.
Vicky agreed. âFine, but I need corresponding freedom. You cant keep me confined in the villa all the
time.â
Tyler instinctively wanted to refuse, but when he caught a glimpse of the pale look on her face, he
could not bring himself to do it.
Bad moods were detrimental to both the mother and the baby. Especially for Vicky, who never liked
being confined.
He pursed his lips. âJade will be with you to ensure your safety.â
Vicky knew that Tyler had reluctantly agreed and decided to compromise. âAlright.â
The two of them finally reached a preliminary agreement.
The babyâs room was still under renovation. During her pregnancy, Vicky disliked the noise, so she
could not wait to go outside once she had some freedom. Tyler did not say anything about it.
Vicky went upstairs to change her clothes and then called Aurora. âAurora, are you free today?â
âYes,â Aurora replied without hesitation. âVicky, can you go out now?â
âYeah,â Vicky said. âI talked to him and reached an agreement. Iâll give birth to the baby, and heâll grant
me freedom.â
âHe agreed to that?â
âHe did.â
Aurora sighed in relief. âThatâs great. If you really insisted on terminating the pregnancy, given how
unpredictable he is, I wouldnât put it past him to drag you down with him.â
After arranging to meet Aurora at a coffee shop, Vicky went downstairs.
She had agreed that Jade would accompany her to ensure her safety in her daily life. However, when
more than 10 minutes had passed and she still had not seen Jade, she sat down on the couch.
Jade was nowhere to be found, even after a while.
Vicky looked at Tyler, who was standing nearby. âWhereâs Jade?â
Tyler put down the financial magazine he was reading. âDo you need something from her?â
âArenât you sending her to ensure my safety? Iâm going out now. Shouldnât she be here?â
âSheâs not coming.â
Vicky was rather surprised.
Just as she wondered if Tyler was finally going to give her complete freedom, he said, âI will
accompany you.â
