Chapter 21
Tyler merely ignored Sasha and knocked on the door of Vickyâs ward before stepping inside.
Vicky opened her eyes and leaned against the bed as she watched the two enter
Sheila was still in her wheelchair, and she had put ointment on the wounds on her arms and legs.
Vicky merely glanced at the wounds for a second before looking away, and Tyler frowned at how little
she seemed to care.
âIs there anything you wish to say for yourself, Vicky?â
She pressed her back against the cold bedhead and shot them a cold look. âWhat should I say? You
took the liberty to say everything there was to say, didnât you?â
Sheila stared at her. âSo youâre admitting what you did, then?â
Vicky did not bother to look at them. âWhatever you say â
âSince you nearly drowned, Iâm sure that youâre physically and mentally worn out, Miss Shaw, soâ¦.
speak on Sashaâs behalf and forgive you for hitting her. However, sheâs now injured, and I hope that
you can apologize to her in person too. That way, we can all let it be bygones.
Sasha had been eavesdropping the entire time and immediately shouted across the door, âNo! She
almost killed me! I want her to go to jail!â
Sheila turned her head and roared, âSasha. Thatâs enough!â
Sasha wanted to argue, but since Tyler was in the room, she reluctantly quieted down and thought to
herself, âHmph! Weâll make her apologize for now. Just wait until I mess this b*tch up!â
Vicky did not react at all and simply closed her eyes as though she did not hear a word they said. The
sunlight shone onto her pale face through the window, and it looked as though her skin was turning
transparent under the glow.
Tyler narrowed his eyes and said, âVicky-
âDo whatever you want to me. Hit me or send me to jail, but just stop acting like hypocrites here,â she
interjected curtly, uncaring. âItâs boring me, and youâre wasting my time.â
People tended to be frail, both physically and mentally, when they were ill or injured. At this moment,
Vicky had no motivation to defend herself and simply gave up.
âWhatâs the point?â she mused to herself. âThey donât want to believe me, and even if thereâs proof,
theyâll just turn a blind eye to it, so why should I make a fool of myself by trying to argue?â
She had no one to rely on and was no match to Tyler, so even if they were to bend the truth, there was
nothing she could do.
Enraged by Vickyâs attitude, Tyler questioned coldly, âSo youâre admitting that you did it?â
âWhatever you say,â she repeated.
âVery well,â he sneered. âI hope you donât regret it, Vicky Shaw.â
âDonât worry, 1 wonât,â she drawled with her eyes still closed. âAfter all, Iâve already been through the
one thing that I regret inost in my life. Whatâs this compared to that?â
âThe one thing you regret most in life?â Sheila asked curiously, âWhat do you mean, Miss Shaw?â
Vicky opened her eyes with a faint smile. âWhat I regret most in my life is marrying Tyler Hart, If only I
get
to do it all over againâ¦â She turned to look at Tyler. âI wouldâve never married you.â
Tension instantly rose in the air as Tylerâs expression darkened.
