Chapter 306
Vicky felt as though she was stabbed in the chest. Not only did she not manage to divorce Tyler, but
she ended up abducted instead.
âI⦠I came here on a trip and was abducted.â
âAnd your husband didnât even bother arranging bodyguards for you?â
Vicky looked away. âL.donât like to be followed around.â
âIf thatâs the case, you kind of brought this on yourself, didnât you?â
âI supposeâ¦â
âSo you canât blame anyone for that.â
The manâs words were harsh, but Vicky assumed that it was just a force of habit as people of high
status never needed to worry about what others thought of them. She ignored his mockery and said,
âIâm not here willingly⦠Sir, if you can get word to Tyler, he can pay you. Whatever you wantâ¦you can
negotiate with him. For someone in your position, getting a powerful friend is far better than getting a
woman, right?â
She was not certain if Tyler would pay the man before her, but she had no other options and had to
make the best of her situation.
The man chuckled. âYou are great at negotiating.â
Feeling hopeful, Vickyâs eyes lit up with anticipation. âDoes that mean youâll help?â
The man studied Vickyâs face and said, âWhat is your name?â
Thinking that he was wavering, Vicky said hastily, âVicky Shaw.â
If the man was interested in investigating her identity, all he needed was her name.
âVicky Shaw,â he repeated. âI recall mentioning what would happen if you lied to me, right?â
She shivered slightly. âI didnât lie to you. I really am Tyler Hartâs wife. Iââ
The man observed her pointedly and interrupted her, âAre you sure that you didnât lie? Did you really
come to Lovian for a trip?â
Vicky wanted to say âyesâ but struggled to make a sound when she met the manâs eyes.
âIf you donât intend on telling the truth, thereâs no point for us to continue this conversation.â The man
glanced at his watch. âYouâve already wasted ten minutes of my time. I prefer to spend the rest of our
time in bed.â
The man approached, his shadow looming over her.
She paled. âDonât come any closer. IâIâll tell the truth!â
The man stopped. âThis is your last chance. Lie to me again, and you know whatâs going to happen.â
The man was simply too sharp, and Vicky was terrified that he would force himself on her, so she gave
up and told the truth.
âI came to Lovian without telling Tyler. He doesnât know.â
âOh? He doesnât know?â the man mused. âDid you come here to meet your lover or something?â
ââ¦â Vicky knew that she had to be patient but was still upset by the manâs words despite the fact that
the man was just about as rude as Tyler was. She suppressed her anger and said, âNo. I came here to
divorce him.â
âWhy would you have to come all the way here to get a divorce?â
âYou should know how powerful Tyler is from where I come from. No one will be willing to file the
divorce for us so long as he says so, so my only choice was to do it overseas.â
âYou sure are desperate to get a divorce,â the man mocked.
