Chapter 318
Vicky gaped at the two of them. âDid you just say thatâ¦heâs getting married?â
Lydia was confused. âWho?â Realization dawned on her. âAre you talking about Tyler Hart?â
Vicky stared at Lydia unblinkingly. âIs he really getting married?â
Lydia lifted an eyebrow with a smile. âI didnât expect you to be interested in scandals like this⦠Oh, I
almost forgot that youâre from Zendonia. Itâs normal for you to be curious, I guess.â
Vicky had not told anyone about who she was other than the man in a mask, so even Jane and Lydia
were unaware that she was Tylerâs ex-wife.
Vicky knew that they would never believe her, and even if they did, they would not let her go so easily.
Most importantly, if the boss decided that he could not afford to cross Tyler, he might choose to kill her
to prevent trouble.
Lydia assumed that Vicky was just curious and proceeded to tell her everything she knew, including
how Tyler was seen going home late at night with his first love, and how they were seen trying on
wedding dresses and picking wedding rings together. There were even rumors that they had filed the
official documents to get married.
âSomeone saw them going to the Civil Administration together, butâ¦no one dared to release the
photos. I think the wedding will take place soon.â
âThe press in Zendonia has been talking about their wedding relentlessly, yet Tyler Hart didnât take that
news down. What do you think that means? It means that heâs admitting to it.â
âSigh. He has just divorced his wife and is now getting married again. All the women who love him are
going to have their hearts brokenâ¦â
At night, a man walked into the room.
Darkness and silence loomed over the room, and he turned on the light to find Vicky laying on the bed
as she stared at the ceiling blankly.
He walked over to her and said, âIâve done as you wished and didnât lay a finger on you, so why do you
look this way?â
Vicky simply kept staring into the darkness without responding.
âAre you disappointed that I didnât do anything to you?â The man bent down, his mask getting
dangerously close.
Vickyâs lashes fluttered when she said, âAre you trying to make me one of those people who suffer from
Stockholm syndrome?â
âWhat?â
She looked at him. âYou appear kind and would fulfill any request I make, but you made sure that I pay
forthem as well. If I agree to the terms, Iâll be fine, but if I refuse to do so, youâll threaten me into doing
so. When I ignored you just now, you started threatening me again.â
Vicky studied him in confusion. âAre you sick in the head? Do you enjoy seeing others in despair and
pain?â
