Chapter 320
If the news that Tyler was about to marry Sheila traveled all the way to Lovian, it could not be fake.
âI just want to make sure.â
The man thought about it and said, âI can allow that.â
âReally?â She beamed and marveled at how understanding the man was compared to Tyler.
âYeah.â The man got up to put on his clothes and mask, before turning the light on to hand Vicky his
phone. âYou only get one chance, though.â
Vicky was so excited that she was vibrating from it. âThank you.â
She truly felt that she was suffering from Stockholm syndrome as she felt a wave of gratitude toward
the man, despite knowing that he was not a good person.
She accepted the phone and took a few deep breaths to calm herself, yet could not control the
shivering of her hands as she dialed the number she remembered by heart.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Once the call was made, her heart started racing.
Time seemed to slip by swiftly and slow down at the same time.
âThe number you have dialed cannot be reached at the moment. Please try again later.â
Vicky froze when she realized that Tyler did not answer the call.
The man spotted the confusion on her face and said, âMaybe he doesnât feel like answering when he
sees that itâs my number.â
Vicky stared at the screen of the phone dazedly.
âOr maybeâ¦â The man lowered his voice. âMaybe heâs occupied at this time, n
Vicky glanced at the time.
There was a time difference between Lovian and Zendonia, so it was only a little past ten in Zendonia.
Tyler never went to sleep so early.
Seemingly worried that Vicky did not get his message, the man explained,â A night with a woman takes
precedence over everything, after all.â
Vicky was about to beg the man to let her make another call but instantly gave up.
She handed the phone back to him and said, âThank you.â
He accepted the phone and narrowed his dark eyes hidden underneath the mask. âI can get another
number and try to call him again tomorrow,â he drawled. âI know that you donât want to believe that heâd
do this to you. If he answers the call, Iâll record our conversation.â
