Chapter 322
After the silence, the man uttered coldly, âVicky Shaw.â
When he lowered his voice, Tyler sounded exceptionally intimidating, and she choked on all the words
she wished to say.
âAre you calling to tell me something?â Tyler said.
âAre you really getting married?â
âIs that all you want to ask?â
âTil ask something else, then,â Vicky whispered. âDo you know that Iâve been kidnapped?â
âI do.â
Though she expected it, her blood ran cold the moment he admitted it.â Alright, I get it. I wonât waste
your time.â
Vicky was about to hang up when Tyler stopped her. âCan I ask you something?â
She paused. âWhat is it?â
âDo you regret it?â
Night fell, and Vicky laid in the darkness and stared above her with her eyes wide open.
Tylerâs voice continued to echo inside her head.
âDo you regret it?â
âRegret?â She thought. âHow could I not? The price of freedom is so great that I am starting to forget
why I insisted on getting a divorce.1
Suddenly, she heard the door opening.
The man in the mask walked over to her. âWell? Will he come for you?â
âI didnât seek his help.â
âWhy not?â
The man did not turn on the light, so neither of them could see the other.
âHe knows that I was kidnapped,â she said emotionlessly, âyet he has no intention of helping me. Iâm
just going to make a fool of myself if I beg for his help.â
âYou donât know that for sure.â
Vicky looked over in his direction and saw nothing but a dark figure.
âYou wonât know what happens until you try it,â the man said as he took off his mask. âIs your pride
more important than your life?â
In the middle of the night, Vicky heard people running around outside the room in her sleep.
She opened her eyes and was shocked to find that the light inside the room had been turned on.
The man was fully dressed and was about to leave. This never happened in the past few days.
âWhere are you going?â Vicky mumbled dazedly. âWhat is happening out there? Why is it so noisy?â
The man adjusted his mask and voice changer before saying, âThereâs something I need to take care
of. Go back to sleep.â
Vicky was confused but did not raise any questions as men who were customers of Forever Night were
bound to have a secret or two.
The man went for the door, and she called out to him before he was about to exit the room. âAre you
coming tomorrow as well?â
The man paused and turned around to look at her.
His mask was still as terrifying as before, but she had gotten used to it.
âWhy? Miss me already?â
Tomorrow would be the last day, and Vicky was naturally thinking of a way to escape Forever Night.
Before she could respond, the man seemed to be in a rush and walked out of the room after saying,
âIâm going.â
She sat on the bed for a while before drifting back to sleep.
Sometime later, she heard a deafening sound from the door.
Baam!
Vicky immediately jolted awake.
