Chapter 330
âWhy is your body so cold?â When Tyler noticed that Vicky was shivering, he held onto her even tighter.
âWhat ifâ¦â she whispered. âWhat if I wasnât kidnapped by your enemy?â
âWho else would do it?â He planted a kiss on her forehead and said gently,â Vicky, I know that youâve
suffered for the past few days. This wonât happen again, butâ¦â
âBut what?â
âYou need to let me know where youâre going next time youâre leaving, or I wonât be able to find you.â
One horrifying experience had been more than Vicky could take, so she whispered, âI know. I wont
wander off again.â
It was a dangerous world out there, and she would still be resenting Tyler for locking her inside a hotel
room in Arrowtown had she not spent a week in Forever Night. In comparison, Tyler never truly
imprisoned her.
He was her husband, and despite all the conflicts they had, he would never leave her to die.
Tyler lowered his gaze, his eyes glittering in the dark. âDo you still want a divorce?â
After a few moments of silence, Vicky shook her head.
Seemingly satisfied with her response, Tyler planted a kiss on her.
Ever since she returned to Stoneford City, everything she saw reminded her of Forever Night, and the
darkness that loomed over her made her feel so insecure that she tried to shove Tyler away. However,
just like the masked man, Tyler would not budge, so she bit his lip.
Considering Tylerâs character, he would be offended by her rejection and continue the kiss forcefully,
but he stopped and apologized, which Vicky assumed to be under the effect of his guilt toward her.
âIâm sorry,â he said hoarsely and caressed her hair. âSleep.â
Vicky sighed a breath of relief when she was sure he was not going to do anything. 1
In the middle of the night, she felt long, cold fingers caressing her cheeks. She opened her eyes to the
familiar sensation, only to find a devilish- looking mask shimmering under the light before her eyes.
âVicky, have you forgotten about what you promised me?â
The voice altered by a voice changer echoed inside her head.
âWhy did you leave with someone else?â
âWhy didnât you wait for me?â
âVicky⦠Vicky Shawâ¦â
âAh!â
Vicky opened her eyes abruptly, and before her was Tylerâs face.
He scowled at her worriedly, and the dark look on his face eased slightly when she woke up. âWere you
having a nightmare?â
Her heart was still racing, and she panted heavily as she struggled to calm herself. âA nightmareâ¦
Yeah, it was just a nightmare,â she mumbled.
