Chapter 331
Tyler pulled her closer when he spotted the insecure look on Vickyâs face.â Itâs alright now.â
Vicky slowly calmed down under his consolation.
The lights inside the room were warm, and so was his expression.
Vickyâs heart settled, and she whispered, âIâm okay. Thank you.â
âWeâre married. Iâm just doing my duty,â he said.
His temperature slowly melted her anxiety, and it was unlike anything she ever experienced before.
âIs this what it means to feel safe?â she thought.
When she woke up the next morning, she was still dazed about what happened. The curtains fluttered
slightly in the breeze, and the sunlight shone into the room.
Vicky sat up in the bed and glanced around to find that Tyler was gone.
She got out of bed and opened the curtains when she heard the door opening and a familiar voice
following a second later.
âAwake?â
She turned around, feeling slightly shocked. âWhy arenât you at work?â
She knew better than anyone about how busy Tyler was with work.
He was dressed in a casual outfit that emphasized his height and did not look as distant as he usually
did.
He walked into the room and said, âYeah, I just want to take a break.â
Vicky lowered her gaze as emotions overwhelmed her. â Iâm fine. You donât have to stay home with me.â
âThereâs nothing much going on in the office. I can always work from home. â He walked over to her
and took her hand. âBreakfast is ready. Letâs head downstairs.â
Vicky nodded.
For some reason, Vicky felt like Tyler had become more approachable.
Even when they were trying to work on their marriage in the past, there was still a wall between them,
but he no longer seemed as cold.
After breakfast, Tyler looked at Vicky and said, âWe havenât found your phone. Do you want to go
outside and buy a new one?â
She instantly refused. âI donât want to go outside. Just get someone to buy a new phone for me.â
She was traumatized since she was kidnapped, and she did not want to go out.
Tyler did not press on and said, âSure.â
She looked up at his breathtakingly handsome face and said, âTyler, thereâs something that I need to
tell you.â
He narrowed his eyes.
Inside the study, Vicky opened her mouth hesitantly but struggled to get the words out.
Tyler, on the other hand, waited patiently without rushing her.
After a while, she finally summoned enough courage and bit onto her lower lip. âTyler, thereâs
something thatâ¦l need to clarify.â
