Chapter 443
Tylerâs voice sounded both strange and familiar as it echoed in the room.
Vickyâs eyes were filled with tears due to the sunlight. Despite her swollen eyes, however, she finally
saw his dark, brooding features.
He stood with his back facing the light and looked down at her as though he had full control over her
life.
âTyler Hartâ¦â she muttered hoarsely. âWhy are you here?â
He stood tall before her and said, âYou tried whatever you could do to seek help when you were sent to
Forever Night, so why havenât you done the same when youâre locked up here?â
Vicky only had a meal and a glass of water each day, and she simply curled against the corner, looking
as pale and helpless as a frail porcelain doll. 1
She looked around and realization dawned on her. âIs thisâ¦you again?
Were you the one who sent people to kidnap me?â
He kept his eyes on her and said, âYes.â
She paused for a few moments before laughing.
âItâs bad enough that you played this trick once, and here you are, playing the same trick⦠Donât you
get bored?â
âIt doesnât matter if itâs fun. What matters is that it worked.â He lifted an eyebrow as he saw her
shivering and chuckled. âWhy are you shaking? Are you that scared of me?â
He was standing at a distance from her and started getting closer, which simply made her shivering
worse.
He crouched and looked her in the eyes as he whispered into her ear, âIf you are that afraid of me,
what even made you run away?â His voice was melodious and pleasant, but each word felt like a blade
that pierce directly through her.
He grabbed her by the chin with a half-smile. âIf you had the courage to run, it just means that I havenât
punished you enough.â He caressed her cheek gently. âLooks like Iâve been too easy on you. Vicky,
how should I punish you this time?â
She could not help but back away from him, but her back was already against the wall, and there was
nowhere else to run.
No matter where she ran to, he would always find her.
His fingers were as cold as ice, sending chills down her spine as he touched her face.
âDid you really think Harvey Sparks could help you?â He lowered his voice seductively. âGloria had a
few scratches, and he immediately flew back to Stoneford City to see her, leaving you behind. You
mean nothing to him. Sebastian Mills canât help you, nor can Harvey⦠No one can help you.â
His words echoed in her mind and replayed in a loop.
âNo one can help meâ¦â she mumbled. âThatâs right, no one can help me.â
His finger trailed down her face and onto her body as he studied her. âHave you betrayed me in the
past few days?â
For a moment, she wanted to say âyesâ in a desperate attempt to provoke him, but fear drowned her
when she saw the cold look in his eyes.
âNo.â
Tyler did not seem surprised. âHe loves another, so itâs only normal that he wonât touch you. Thoughâ¦â
He scanned her up and down. âYou know that I donât like people touching whatâs mine.â
He tore her clothes apart, and the buttons on her shirt snapped.
She instinctively tried to cover herself in the ice-cold air, but could not bring herself to move at all in the
manâs intimidating presence.
As though trying to humiliate her, his fingers traveled down her skin.
