Chapter 449
Vicky bit her lip and turned pale, but she refused to respond.
Tyler did not seem affected by it, but the look in his eyes simply grew darker.
âVicky, remember that you brought this to yourself,â he said before standing from his seat with her in his
arms.
She shivered and felt as though she was soaked in ice-cold water despite being tightly wrapped with a
blanket.
Just then, Harvey went and stood in Tylerâs way with a sharp, cold look that she had never seen on his
face before. âLet Vicky go.â
Tyler lifted his eyebrow. âWhy should I?â
âBecause she doesnât want to go with you.â
Amused, Tyler chuckled. âIf she doesnât want to leave with me, do you think that she wants to go with
you instead?â He lowered his gaze at Vicky. âWhy donât we ask her and see who she wants to leave
with?â
It seemed normal for him to seek Vickyâs opinion, but Harvey jolted in response to his words.
After being Tylerâs rival for years, he knew Tyler like the back of his hand and realized that Tyler was
certain Vicky would choose to stay with him.
âVicky.â Harvey lowered his voice as he looked at the frail woman before him. âLet me take you away
from here, okay?â
All he needed for a nod, and he would risk his life to take Vicky away from Tyler.
Vicky turned to look at him and smiled. âItâs fine. Thank you for helping me so far.â
After attempting to run twice, she finally realized that she could never escape Tyler. Tyler had always
had full control over the situation and had only allowed her to run away because he enjoyed the chase.
âVicky.â Harvey stared into her eyes and said, âIâm sorry.â
Had he not left Jencity abruptly, Tyler would have never gotten her.
âItâs not your problem.â She shook his head. âHe always gets what he wants. H
âI should have known this right from the start,â she thought to herself. âTyler did everything to tell me that
no one can help me. Not Sebastian, and definitely not Harvey.â
She did not blame Harvey for leaving. After all, surviving with someoneâs help was destined to be short-
lived, and she could only blame herself for being powerless.
âVickyâ¦â Harvey muttered.
âJust go.â She interrupted him and looked at him calmly. âDonât feel guilty. I made my choice. Besides,
Iâm still married to him, so where else can I go? Iâll eventually have to face reality, and running wonât
help me.â
Tyler remained quiet and simply observed their exchange.
Vicky made it clear that she chose to stay instead of being pressured into it by Tyler and said, âAlright,
just go. I need to rest.â
Harvey stood still and stared at her quietly. After some time, he finally moved and turned to leave.
