âYes.â
Vicky smiled coldly. âShe is back. You know that, right?â
Tylerâs eyebrow twitched slightly. âI do.â
âSince the woman you love is back, her substitute should get out of the picture. Have youâ¦not
considered rekindling the romance with her?â
Tyler looked away for a split second before regaining his composure.â Since Iâve already chosen you, I
wonât choose another.â
She chuckled. âI donât think youâre determined not to choose anotherâ¦but that she might not pick you,
right? If she chooses to be with you, will you still say those words?â
He moved his lips to speak but fell into silence in the end.
Vicky understood what he meant and kept her eyes trained on him, despite the sorrow within her.
âTyler, there isnât a woman on earth who enjoys being with a married man. I know that you feel
uncertain if she will be with you even if you divorce meâ¦but I can tell you that sheâll never be with you
for as long as youâre married to me. Youâll still stand a chance if you divorce me, but if you donâtâ¦â She
paused and stared into his eyes. âYou wonât stand a chance at all.â
The look in his eyes darkened, and neither of them was willing to look away.
He remained expressionless and said, âSo what?â
âYou might not care about my feelings, butâ¦donât you care about how she feels?â
âWhy should I care?â he retorted.
Vicky froze.
âWhy should I care about someone who doesnât care about me?â Tyler continued coldly.
Never in Vickyâs wildest dreams did she imagine Tyler would say such a thing.
Seemingly aware of her thoughts, he asked, âAm I that cheap a man in your eyes?â
âButâ¦â Vicky muttered, âIf you donât care about her, why did you keep the things she gave you?â
He paused and fell into silence once again when he thought of the items Vicky found in his study.
âTyler, youâre just trying to fool yourself.â Vicky felt both amused and heartbroken at the realization that
the almighty man was running from reality.
âVicky, did you really think that Iâd divorce you simply because of what you said?â He questioned. âLove
is replaceable in my world, and I can survive without anyone. As for her⦠From the day she
abandoned me, she lost the right to have my attention.â
Realization dawned on her. âSo, did you marry meâ¦to spite her? Was that your way of telling her that
you can survive without her? Orâ¦did you marry me simply because weâre relatives and I look like her?â
Tyler scanned her in contempt. âYouâve overestimated yourself.â No longer wishing to continue the
subject, he brought over another tray. âVicky, this is your last chance. Are you eating on your own, or do
you need me to feed you?â
She looked away. âIâm not eating.â
His lips curled into a sneer. âIf you donât feel like eating, letâs do something else, then.â He then lowered
his head and captured her lips.
