âAnywhere,â said Vicky. âI am sick of staying in the hospital.â
Tyler bent down and kissed her on the forehead. âAlright.â
She leaned against his chest and whispered, âI heard thereâs a new resort here in Stoneford City. Why
donât we go there?â
It was rare for Vicky to speak to him, so there was no reason for Tyler to refuse. âSure.â
âYou need to work, and I donât want to get in the way of that, so why donât we head for the resort on
Friday night?â She looked up at him. âWe can stay there during the weekends.â
He narrowed his eyes and looked into her eyes. âWhy donât we go on Saturday and Iâll stay there with
you until Monday?â
âIs something wrong with going on Friday?â
âYeah.â
âWhat is it?â
He remained absolutely calm without showing any emotions. âI have something else to do that night.â
âWhat is so important?â
He stared at her in silence and narrowed his eyes once again. âWhy are you asking?â
Vicky rarely asked where he went, and she was exceptionally cold.
Vicky did not look away or panic. âBecause Iâm curious.â
He looked at her in silence.
She smiled. âIs there something you canât tell me?â
He remained calm. âYou already know, donât you?â
Vicky knew where he was going, but despite knowing that she knew, he had no intention of explaining
himself.
She stared at him unblinkingly. âCan you not go?â
He batted his eyelashes. âIâve already given her my word.â
âCanât you just change your mind?â
âVicky, you should know that we should always keep our promises.â
âBut there are bound to be times when one must break their promises.â
There would always be accidents, and there would come a time when a person had to break their
promise.
âThatâs right.â A dazed look appeared in his eyes. âWhich is why we must fulfill the promises to the best
of our abilities.â
Vicky was not surprised or upset by his answer and simply asked, âAnd you have to go that day?â
âOf course not.â
She froze.
He caressed her cheek and coaxed, âThere are priorities to things. Vicky, we can go on a trip together
anytime we want, right?â
