Chapter 551
Vicky studied Tylerâs face. âWhen you realized that you had the wrong person, you broke up with me
and started pursuing Gloria, correct?â
The look in his eyes remained mysterious and unreadable. There seemed to be a thin barrier that kept
Vicky from understanding how he felt or what he was thinking, but she finally felt like the mist was
clearing.
âYes,â the man answered.
âHow long were we together at the time?â
After a brief silence, he said, âA little over a year.â
She smiled. âAnd you hadnât once realized you had the wrong person throughout the year?â
His expression was composed, and his stare was stern.â Thereâs no love at first sight in this world. All I
saw back then was a womanâs back. I thought that the person I saw played the piano wonderfully, and
thatâs why I wanted to meet her.â He stared at her. âIt was nothing more than a trigger. I wasnât deeply
in love with you.â
His words were cruel but truthful.
Both Vicky and Gloria knew that falling in love with just a look of someone from the back was a plot that
would only appear in fairytales.
Tyler, Vicky, and Gloria simply got to know one another
because of that.
âTyler didnât think much of it because you can play the piano as well. Youâve never brought him to
school when you were dating him, so Tyler and I donât even know each other existed. If you didnât feel
guilty, why didnât you get him to drop by the school?â
ââ¦â Vicky fell into silence as it was a question she was incapable of answering.
âThroughout the year weâve been together, did you really⦠not feel anything toward me? If youâve
never truly loved me, whyâ¦bother dating me?â
âI did love you for a time,â he said, his voice sounding hollow.
She froze.
Gloria, as well as Alex-who did not expect there to be so much that he was unaware ofâwere stunned
as well.
âYouâ¦were in love with me?â Vicky stared at Tyler.
âYouâve said it yourself. How can I date you if I donât love you?â he said casually and stared down at her
as though he was looking at a stranger instead of his wife. âBut all I fell in love with was the mask you
were wearing. You pretended to be an innocent woman when, in truth, you were selfish and
despicable.â
Vicky paled and backed away a few steps.
