As Tyler got closer, Cece shot Vicky a look and said, âVicky.
Vicky was never an aggressive woman, so what she said to Gloria surprised Cece. However, thinking
back to what Gloria had done, Cece agreed that Gloria deserved to be treated this way.
Gloria was only pretending to be innocent by claiming she maintained an appropriate distance from
Tyler. However, if it was true, she would have refrained from meeting Tyler frequently and should have
turned Tyler down even if he reached out to her.
Hence, Cece did not do anything but watch when Vicky mocked Gloria. To her bewilderment, Vicky
slapped Gloria across the face, and Cece was instantly concerned that Tyler might be upset with Vicky
over it.
Vicky noticed that Tyler was approaching and chuckled before raising her arm to strike again. Only this
time, she failed as her arm was held in the air.
She looked up and saw Tylerâs face before her. With a dark look in his eyes, he glared at her with a
cold expression. âVicky, what do you think youâre doing?â
Tyler pursed his lips in displeasure.
âOh, Miss Shaw said something that upset me, so I snapped,â Vicky said, despite the fact that there
was no trace of anger on her face.
He lowered his gaze at her and said, âIf I remember correctly, you were the one who started talking to
her.â
âOh.â
âAnd you were the one who resorted to violence.â
After a few thoughtful moments, Vicky nodded. âI suppose you are right.â
She looked into his dark eyes and said, âWould you like for me to apologize?â
The look in his eyes darkened.
â But why didnât you get her to apologize when she slapped me in the face, then?â Vicky retorted. âI
wonât apologize.â
Since Tyler had come to Gloriaâs rescue, Vicky knew she would not be able to slap Gloria the second
time and attempted to pull her arm away, but Tyler simply would not let go.
She scowled. âTyler Hart, let go.â
Tyler did not let go and continued to stare at her intently. His gaze was as cold as ice and piercing as
though he could see through her soul.
Her heart sank, and she instantly felt chills down her spine.
âIf she doesnât want to apologize, thereâs no need to make her!â Gloria said coldly. âI donât want an
apology thatâs forced out of her!â
Vicky turned her attention to Gloria and smiled. âIs that your way of saying thatâ¦you want my sincere
apology, cousin?â
