âNo reason.â
âYou were the one who asked for the divorce this time.â
âSo what?â
âIf you didnât want a divorce, why did you ask your men to deliver the agreement to me?â She stared
into his eyes. âI wonât believe you if you try to play it off as a prank.â
Tyler looked up and met her gaze. âI did want to divorce you, but you wouldnât sign the agreement, and
I started having second thoughts.â
Vicky narrowed her eyes. âWhy?â
âYou wouldnât oblige when I wanted a divorce, so why should I accept it when you want it?â
Amused, Vicky mocked, âTyler, donât you think youâre being childish?â
âChildish or not, youâre not getting away unless I say so.â
Vicky did not bother asking what she could do for him to agree to the divorce. After a long silence, she
said, âI came here today to speak to you about something, Tyler.â
He stared at her quietly, waiting for her to continue.
âIâve thought things through and decided that I wonât divorce you until I get all my memories back.â She
observed his expression carefully and said, âI keep feeling like Iâm missing something important⦠so
Iâm not going to bring divorce up again until I remember everything.â
With that, she paused and waited for Tyler to respond.
Tyler remained unwavering, but the look in his eyes darkened.
Vicky waited patiently for a while, but since he refused to react in any way, she could not tell what he
was thinking.
âIf thatâs it, then⦠Iâll leave now,â she said.
Tyler hummed in response and returned to reading the documents on his desk.
â¦
At night, Tyler finally returned home after being absent for so long.
Vicky was stepping out of the shower when he arrived home.
She was slightly taken aback when she saw him but did not make any comment about it.
Tyler took off his jacket and headed to the bathroom.
As she watched his familiar figure, her breath caught in her chest.
She recalled the time when they first met and relished in the memory as she had always considered it
her most precious memory.
âIs he really that disgusted by the memories of our past?â she thought.
When Tyler stepped out of the bathroom, Vicky had already gotten into bed and closed all the lights.
She was, however, not asleep and could hear every single sound he made as he walked over and got
into bed.
She paced her breath to pretend like she was asleep.
However, Tyler was no longer the man in her memories who would wrap his arms around her gently,
worrying that he might wake her.
Tyler pressed his body against hers and planted a forceful kiss onto her lips with strength enough to
wake a person who was deeply asleep.
Vicky wanted to protest, but he did not give her the chance and simply deepened the kiss.
â¦
Since then, both Vicky and Tyler stopped mentioning the notion of getting a divorce.
One day, Cece arrived at the hospital early and noticed that Vicky was nowhere to be seen, so she
called her.
âVicky, where are you now?â
âIâm almost theââ Before Vicky could finish, Cece heard a deafening noise on Vickyâs end.
Baam!
At the same time, the call ended abruptly.
