Vicky knew that Harvey needed to speak with Gloria, so she left the hospital instead of bothering them.
It was not until she stepped out of the hospital that she recalled she had forgotten to call Cece.
Just as she contemplated if she should borrow a phone from a passerby, a car raced by, scaring
everyone along the way.
Just as Vicky was about to move out of the way, the car stopped right in front of her.
Before she could register what happened, the car door flew open and Tyler strode toward her.
âTyler?â Surprised, she gaped at him. âWhere are you gââ
She paused before she could finish, as she realized why he was here. âAre you here to see Gloria? Her
surgery is over, and she seems energeticââ
He interrupted her. âWhy are you here?â
His frosty tone caused Vickyâs heart to sink and she thought to herself, âIs he that worried that Iâm going
to harm Gloria?â
Vickyâs expression hardened. âIâm here for a follow-up.â
He scanned her up and down and came to a realization when he spotted no injuries on her. âYou were
working with that assistant of yours to put up an act, werenât you?â
âPut up an act?â Vicky repeated in confusion.
He stared at the confused look on her face in contempt. âVicky, youâre getting better at acting.â
Vicky was clueless as to what happened. âWhat are you talking about, Tyler?â
âSatisfied now?â
ââ¦â Vicky was rendered speechless as she did not even understand what he was accusing her of.
Not expecting to get any answers from him, she walked around him to leave.
Suddenly, he reached out to grab her by the wrist and said, âCome have lunch with me.â
His tone was casual but authoritative.
She turned to look at his face. âArenât you going to see Gloria?â
The way Gloria glared at Vicky earlier was as though Vicky had stolen her most prized belonging, and
Vicky knew that the man before her was Gloriaâs most precious.
âThis is what you are after, right?â he asked coldly.
Vicky hated people who spoke in riddles, so she shook his hand off expressionlessly, yet he refused to
let go.
