Chapter 75
âH-Havenât you always wanted to divorce me so that you can marry Sheila? â
âWhen did I say that?â asked Tyler.
Vicky thought back to what happened in the past.
Tyler did want to divorce her, and she still had the message from him that she
received on the day of the accident. However, from what she could remember,
he never mentioned anything about marrying Sheila.
She narrowed her eyes in confusion. âSo you donât want to marry her?â
âIf I wanted to marry her, I wouldnât have married you,â he said coldly.
Enter titleâ¦
âBut wasnât I the one who sabotaged your relationship, forcing you to marry
me?â
âYes.â
âSo Sheilaâ¦should be the one you wanted to marry at the time, right?â
âYes.â
âBut nowââ
âI wouldâve married Sheila had you not come into the picture. However, itâs been
three years and I no longer have a specific reason to marry her,â interjected
Tyler before she could finish.
Vicky caught on immediately. âSo there was a specific reason that you wanted to
marry her.â
âYes, but you ruined it.â
âItâs not something like a political marriage, right?â
He shot her a resigned look. âSheila comes from an ordinary family. She canât
compare to you in terms of family background.â
âSo why did you want to marry Sheila, then?â
His eyes lit up slightly at the memory. âShe plays the piano well.â
Vicky jilted in shock as she remembered what she heard the other day outside
the ward. âHer hands are destroyed, and she canât play piano anymore,â she
muttered. âThatâs whyâ¦you donât want to marry her anymore? N
âThatâs a part of it,â Tyler said emotionlessly. âOn the other hand, Iâve not been in
touch with her since we were married, and after three years, even the deepest
love will fade.â
âYou wanted to marry her when she could play piano and lost interest when she
couldnât⦠Donât you think thatâs too heartless of you?â
âWould it be less heartless of me to give her hope even after I was married? â
he retorted.
Vicky was instantly rendered speechless. Though Tyler was not entirely wrong,
losing the interest in marrying a woman simply because she could no longer
play piano seemed like something a womanizer would do.
It was almost the same concept as a man losing interest in his wife because she
was no longer young and beautiful.
âTyler, have you ever loved Sheila?â
âI love it when she plays the piano. Does that count?â
â(â¦suppose.â
Any kind of love that started with an appreciation for the other personâs talent,
personality, or looks would be considered valid. However, Vicky could not help
but feel like something was odd with the relationship between Tyler and Sheila.
She studied his face and said, âSo? Iâm sure you didnât decide to continue this
marriage simply because you wanted to repent for what Sheila did out of guilt,
right?â
He narrowed his eyes darkly. After a few moments of silence, he said, â Hart
Corporation is growing, and itâs not the time for scandals of a divorce.â
