It was not until a few years later that Vicky finally realized Noah was right all along.
At the moment, however, Noah did not seem reliable, and she did not pay much mind to what he said.
âNoah, you keep saying that youâre doomed, but youâre alive and well right now, right? Donât worry, Iâll
explain what happened back then when I get home so that he wonât target you again.â
Seeing how Vicky refused to listen, Noah turned to his cousin, Ava.
Ava was at a similar age as Cece and had a carefree personality with a lot of common interests with
Cece. She had taken a particular liking to Vickyâs design and was reluctant to give up and send Vicky
home after getting her to come for a measuring session.
Ava waved her hand. âNoah, why donât you just go home and feed your cats? People tend to support
their juniors, yet here you are, trying to ruin her business.â
Vicky did not mind. âNoah is only saying these things for my good.â
Frustrated, Noah said, âNone of you would believe me. Youâll come to regret it someday!â
Ava ignored him and continued to discuss the style of dress she wanted with Cece excitedly.
Vicky shot Noah an apologetic smile before joining the discussion as well.
Furious, Noah spat out, âFine. If you wonât leave, I will!â
â¦
Since that day, Vicky had devoted herself to work.
Ava was in a hurry to get her dress, and since Vicky did not have other clients to serve at the moment,
she worked overtime to produce the dress and completely forgot about Gloria.
Three days later, Vicky and Cece brought the dress over to Ava for fitting.
Ava was a gentle and easy-going woman, so she stood in front of the mirror with satisfaction. âNot bad.
Itâs wonderful. I love it.â
Vicky and Cece exchanged pleased looks as their clientsâ satisfaction was the best approval toward
them.
Ava paid the remaining balance to Vicky right away, but merely seconds after that, Vickyâs phone
started to ring.
She stared at the screen on her phone dazedly when she spotted Tylerâs name.
Since she had to work overtime, she had not seen Tyler around, and he had been giving her the cold
shoulder.
She focused on her work and did not have much time to call Tyler, nor had he contacted her.
âWhy is he calling me all of a sudden?â she thought as she answered the call.
Before she could speak, Tylerâs cold, cruel voice came from the other end of the line. âVicky, where
have you taken Gloria to?â
Confused, Vicky muttered, âWhere⦠What? What happened to Gloria?â
âShe is missing.â
