After some time, Vicky leaned in Tylerâs arms weakly.
She had not shown Tyler any care lately and would either ignore him or act distant, so it was rare for
her to behave so obediently.
Confused, Tyler stared at the blush on her face and asked, âWhy are you so obedient today?â
ââ¦â Vicky mocked how Tyler seemed confused by her obedience inwardly and said, âWill how I behave
change anything?â
âNo,â he said without hesitation.
âSo why would I make things difficult for myself?â
Tyler did not speak for a long time after that and Vicky turned around to go to sleep, only to be pulled
backward.
Tyler planted another kiss on her lips and said, âI suppose youâre right. Letâs do it again, then.â
Vicky did not resist and her obedience seemed to please him, so he even bathed her afterward.
It had been so long since he bathed her.
The night was quiet and peaceful, but Vicky could not seem to fall asleep.
Though she did not move, Tyler sensed that she was awake and asked, âAre you not sleepy?â
âI probably slept too much in the afternoon.â
Tyler was never a talkative man, so he simply hummed in response and enjoyed the rare silence.
Suddenly, Vicky broke the silence. âHow is Gloria doing?â
The look in Tylerâs eyes darkened. âShe is still undergoing treatment.â
âIs her condition that severe?â
âItâs hard to treat depression.â
After a moment of silence, Vicky asked casually, âWhy didnât you visit me in the hospital when I was in
a car accident a year ago?â
Tyler lowered his gaze to her and asked, âWhy are you asking about that all of a sudden?â
âGloria has depression, and you go to the hospital every single day. I was in life-threatening danger
after the car accident, yet you hadnât once gone to the hospital to see meâ¦â Vicky only said so to not
raise his suspicion, but she realized how bitter she sounded.
Tyler was slightly taken by surprise at first, but his lips soon curled into a smile. âJealous?â
âNo.â Vicky turned her face away. âI just want to know why you didnât visit me when I was about to die.â
âI didnât know.â
She stared at him and said, âThe hospital mustâve called you when I was in an accident, right? Did you
really not know?â
âI was on a business trip at the time,â he said.
âYou were having dinner with Sheila, werenât you? How were you on a business trip?â
âWho told you that Sheila and I were in Stoneford City at the time?â
Vicky was instantly rendered speechless as the news had not mentioned that the two were seen in
Stoneford City.
None of that mattered, however, because Tyler lied.
She stared at his face and was instantly overwhelmed by the urge to ask him why he lied. She
desperately wanted to ask if he was responsible for her amnesia and the accident, but in the end, she
held back the urge and lowered her head quietly.
