Half an hour later, Vicky brought supper to the dining room where Tyler was waiting after he changed
his clothes.
She set the food on the table and sat on a chair across from Tyler.
Tyler picked up a spoon elegantly. Marveled by how majestic his every move was, she made a mental
note to herself that this might be the reason why all women threw themselves at him.
She stared at him and said, âDo you know that Gloria is missing?â
He paused and looked up at Vicky. âMissing?â
âHave you not gone to see her today?â
âNo,â he said. âMy schedule is packed today, so I didnât have time for that.â
She observed his expression. âIs that why you stayed in the hospital with her all night yesterday?â
He narrowed his eyes and stared into her eyes. âNo. I returned to the office from the hospital last night.â
Vicky had seen the surveillance footage of the hospital and knew that Tyler left the hospital half an hour
after Vicky left. Still, she had to ask about it as it would be odd for a wife to not ask any questions when
her husband did not return home.
âSo, do you know where Gloria is?â
âI donât.â
âAre you not going to search for her?â
He lifted his gaze. âWhy should I?â
âShe is missing.â
âWas she kidnapped?â
Vicky kept her eyes trained on him. âYou donât seem worried.â
âIf she was kidnapped, someone wouldâve called and informed me.â
Vicky instantly knew that Tyler was referring to Selene.
âEven if she was kidnapped, thereâs no point in acting before Iâm informed,â he continued calmly.
âAlsoâ¦if she wants to be alone, why would I bother her?â
âAre you so certain she only left to be alone?â she asked.
âIs that not the case?â
Vicky looked into his eyes. âShe tried to tell me something last night, and you stopped her. Today, she
went missing. Isnât that strange?â
He met her eyes. âAre you trying to say that I took Gloria away?â
âThatâs possible.â
âWhat do you think she was going to tell you?â
âThe Shaws went through bankruptcy, so you didnât marry me for their fortune. Since what I did disgust
you, you didnât marry me for love either. That leaves only one possible reason for you to marry meâ¦
Revenge.â
Tylerâs lips curled into a smile. âSince youâve already guessed it, why would I bother taking her away?â
Vicky froze.
Indeed, judging from Gloriaâs tone the night before, it was not hard for anyone to guess what she was
about to say.
Vicky knew that Gloria wanted to tell her that Tyler married her for revenge, and Vicky did not feel
offended by it
Since she was told before that Tyler was forced to marry her, she found it reasonable that there was no
love in her marriage.
Tyler had been seen with countless women throughout the years and allowed those women to bully
Vicky as revenge, and that matched with what Vicky knew about Tylerâs personality.
âIf thatâs the case, why stop her from saying it? Why get me out of the room?â
âDid you want to get into a fight with her?â he questioned. âOr did you want to argue with a woman who
has depression?â
Vicky was instantly at a loss for words.
