Vicky knew that Tyler was perceptive, but she did not know that he was perceptive to such an extent.
âYou came so suddenly, so shouldnât I feel nervous?â Gloria looked up and chuckled darkly. âYouâve
only been here yesterday, and you are back today. Why didnât you pay me visits as frequently before?
Have you thought of some new ways to torture me?â
Vicky could not see his face as his back faced the closet, but she spotted the fear in Gloriaâs eyes right
away.
âWhat exactly has Tyler done to Gloria for her to be so scared of him?â Vicky thought.
Sensing Gloriaâs fear, Vickyâs heart started racing as well.
âYouâre mistaken,â Tyler said. âIâm just treating your depression.â
âYou call this treatment?!â Gloria shouted hysterically. âYouâre trying to get me killed!â
Tyler remained unwavering. âIf I wanted you dead, you wonât survive until now.â
âBut Iâd rather be dead than to be like this! Tyler, what exactly have I done wrong? Why are you doing
this to me? Iâve never wronged you in any way! Itâs bad enough that you are using me, but now, you
want to get rid of me too? Were you lying when you said that you wanted to compensate me for what
happened in the past?â
After a long silence, he said, âI meant what I said.â He did not give Gloria the chance to say anything.
âBut I wait for people who are greedy. Gloria, you are asking for too much. Still, I intend to keep my
promise.â
Tyler scanned her up and down. âYou seem fine, and you donât look like you want to take your own life
anymore. I got the wrong person back then, and now, Iâm saving your life in return. That ought to even
things out, right?â
Tears welled in Gloriaâs eyes, and she shouted in disbelief, âEven? This is what you think?! Tyler Hart,
you owe me! Youâre torturing me when you owe me!â
âI owe you?â Tyler repeated with a cold voice and stared down at her. âYou havenât saved my life or
done anything for me, so donât you think itâs far too arrogant for you to claim that Iâm in your debt?â
Gloria flinched and sobbed.
âYou only happened to be at that garden, playing piano, on my birthday. I am kind enough to make that
up to you, but that doesnât give you any leverage over me. Gloria, know your place.â
Throughout the years Gloria had known him, she had never seen such a heartless side of him, and she
was absolutely stunned.
Vicky, who hid in the closet, recalled the time when she first started to know Tyler.
Tyler never liked talking, but when he did, he spat venom and she came close to bursting into tears
from what he said countless times.
Sometime later, Gloria muttered through trembling lips, âI donât want you to make it up to me. I just want
you to let me go.â
âYour depression isnât cured yet, so you still need to go through treatment. Iâve promised that Iâd cure
you, and I intend to keep that promise,â said Tyler coldly before shouting demands at the door. âCome
in and continue the treatment.â
With that, a few doctors in white coats strode in with large equipment that sent chills down the spine of
anyone who saw them.
âShe is a pianist, so she canât go missing for too long. You have another week to cure her depression,â
Tyler commanded.
The doctors tensed at his words. âYes, sirâ¦weâll try our best.â
The doctors then started âtreatingâ Gloria with the equipment Vicky could not begin to name.
âAaah!â
Screams filled the room and Vickyâs heart sank, all the while thinking to herself, âTyler isnât
compensating Gloria. He is torturing her!â
