Noah would not have risked his life to agree to Vickyâs invitation.
Cece glanced at the two and said, âJennifer and Noah seem like a good match. Itâs way better than to
let her waste time on that jerk, Anthony.â
Vicky knew Noah and that he was a great man. âCece, should we tell Jennifer?â
âAbout what?â Cece asked in confusion.
âThat Noah likes her.â
Vicky canât stop Noah from pursuing Jennifer as it was his right to do so, but she could inform Jennifer
about it to avoid her from feeling awkward. Plus, if she was not interested, it could save Noah from the
embarrassment.
âI donât think thatâs necessary,â Cece said. âNoah is a great guy and Jennifer has already wasted
enough time on Anthony. Itâs about time that she steps out of her comfort zone to meet other men.
Maybe sheâll finally stop being so stubborn. Besidesâ¦â Cece lowered her voice. âJennifer may look
cheerful on the outside, but I actually havenât seen her laugh like this for the longest time. If Noah can
make her laugh, we should give him a chance.â
Vicky followed Ceceâs gaze and spotted the beaming smile on Jenniferâs face.
After the gathering, the four of them stepped out of the private room.
Noah displayed his gentlemanly manners and offered a ride, âItâs getting late. Let me escort you all
back.â
Cece wanted to create an opportunity for Noah and readily agreed.
Jennifer, on the other hand, was interested in the story that Noah had not finished earlier and also
agreed.
Vicky did not say otherwise seeing how the other two had agreed.
Just as they were about to head towards Noahâs car, a figure with an elegant and slender presence
blocked their way.
As they looked up and caught sight of the handsome and refined face, the expressions on everyoneâs
faces but Noahâs changed.
Cece held a hostile attitude toward the man in front of her and immediately stood in front of Jennifer.
âAnthony, what are you doing here?â
Anthonyâs gaze pierced through Cece and landed on Jennifer, who stood behind her. âJennifer.â His
voice was as soothing as a spring under the moonlight, deep and pleasant. âIâd like to have a private
conversation with you.â
âWeâve already said everything we needed to talk about.â
Jenniferâs tone turned cold. âRight now, I have nothing to say to you.â
Ever since Anthony abandoned her on the highway for Lily, Jennifer completely lost faith in the man
standing before her.
