a gift for Elijah’s grandmother yet. “Elijah, are you free tomorrow?”

Elijah paused for a moment and asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Let’s pick a gift for Grandma together tomorrow. Isn’t her birthday coming up?”

Seeing Elijah hesitating as if he was contemplating something, Vicky could not help but ask, “What’s

wrong? Do you have something to do tomorrow?”

Snapping out of his daze, Elijah replied, “No, I don’t have anything tomorrow. What time should I come

to pick you up? It

“Ten in the morning,” Vicky answered.

With the time set, the two bid each other farewell.

The next day, Vicky came downstairs in a timely manner. Just as she pulled open the passenger side
