MIA
I got home to meet a worried mother with many questions on her face.
"Where have you been?" she asked
"Oh, well I was with Alex all the while" I smiled as I fondled with my hair.
"I thought you said He is the Prince?" she asked looking baffled
"Yes He is" I smiled even more
She sighed. "What has this man done to you?" she smile
"He wants me to marry Him" I said and shock filled her eyes. "Oh mother, I'm so happy" I jumped
She seemed not to relate with the news and there was no emotion on her face.
"Aren't you happy Mother?" I asked
She sighed. "Of course I am" she gave a short smile.
"Alright. I'll just make dinner for us" I said as I hurried to the back.
And to my surprise, he was here. A smile found its way on my face as I hurried to hug him.
"Did you miss me that much?" he said as he held me closer
"Yes I did" I smiled as I poked his chest slightly
"Well I did more" he said as he kissed me.
I could never have enough of him. All my life I never thought it would never be possible to love someone the way I did now and this feeling is something I want to keep having for the rest of my life.
"I don't think this is the dinner I would want to have" a familiar voice spoke.
I broke the kiss quickly and turned to face mother.
"Mother. You're here" I spoke feeling somewhat embarrassed
Alex approached her calmly with a smile on His face
"It's good to see you again Mother" he bowed slightly
"Same as well, your Highness" she smiled.
"Oh no Mother, it's just Alex" He said.
"It's a surprise to have you here at this hour" mother said
He paused "Actually, I...if I have your permission, I would love to stay here with you and Mia for a few days" he said
I was taken aback by the words he spoke. Is this a joke?
"Your highness...I don't think we have the comfort you would want here" mother spoke as shock filled her words
"I didn't come here to have comfort, I'm here to be with family" he smiled and his eyes met mine
My heart seemed to get softer each moment I spent with Alex. And again with His surprises, he always has them ready. I love him so much that it scares me and can't phantom losing him. A smile found its way on my face as my gaze never left him
"Well then, you're welcome your highness" Mother smiled as she gestured into the house
He smiled and followed her into the house.
"I'll be here making dinner!" I shouted
After few minutes, He came out to join me
"I spoke with Mother what I told you" he said
"What's that?" I asked as I continued to cook
"You being my Queen" he stated
I paused. The reality of those words was yet to dawn on me. Am I really going to be a queen?
He got closer to me, had my fingers locked in his and brought them close to his lips.
"I will marry you Mia no matter what happens. I'll have you rule this town with me" he said.
His words sent shivers down my spine. I felt the weight of what I'd gotten myself into. It was simple yet complicated. I know very well that Alex loves me but doubts still had its way in what we had. Would the palace ever accept a villager as a queen? As much as I never want to think about it, it kept ringing in my head.
"You really are stubborn about your decisions. You'll be a tough king" I chuckled.
"Well stubborn for you alone" he emphasised.
"We'll be alright." I said as I placed my arms round his neck. "I'm here always for you." I added as I kissed him shortly.

A few days passed and having Alex around made things livelier. He would be with Mother taking care of her while I worked at the palace. Later in the evening, we would make dinner together, laugh at his jokes and tell past stories. I never could wait for work to end so I could hurry back home. It was a surprise to me how the palace never worried about the prince. It was all silent about Him. Are they aware how long He's been gone?
Work ended and I hurried home.
"I'm back" I said as I entered the house.
Mother was fast asleep and carefully I went out not to have her wake up from her sleep. Outside was Alex tending the garden. A smile crept on my face as I tip-toed towards him since he hadn't seen me yet or so I thought. At that moment, he turned and closed the space between us
"This wasn't my plan" I rolled my eyes
"Too bad" he smiled
His hand came up to my hair as I felt a little weight on it. I held it and took out the yellow flower he had placed there. I looked at him and a smile was matted on his face.
"Let's go somewhere" he took my hand before I could say anything.
I was lifted on the horse and he joined behind me. Slightly hitting the horse, it rode away from the house. The path we followed was familiar and then I remembered the stream. My heart bubbled with joy as we arrived at the waterfalls.
"I love this place" I said as I hurried into the water.
I released myself to the water and allowed myself to flow with its melody. I looked up to see Alex staring at me with a smile. His charming smile.
"What are you staring at?" I smiled and asked
"How beautiful you are" he said and quickly he hurried into the water causing it to splash.
The peace of the water was disturbed as we swam in it. Suddenly splashes of water slapped me and I jolted in shock.
"Gotcha...again" He laughed
"You're at it again. I won't go easy on you this time" I said as I filled my palms with water.
As usual, he dodged it.
"Try harder" he laughed
He sent splashes of water to me and none missed me. I groaned in frustration as I was defeated. And then an idea popped into my head
"Ow" I yelped as I swam gently to shore.
Alex ran quickly to me having worry written all over his face
"What wrong?" he asked
"I think something bit me in the water" I faked
"Where?" he inquired
"Somewhere there" I pointed into the water
He turned into the water as though he was going to catch whatever bit me and then I took advantage of the opportunity in front of me. I pushed him sharply and losing his balance he fell face down into the water. My laughter filled the air
"Got you this time. That's a plus for me" I laughed.
He lifted his head from the water and gave me a shady smile.
"You sneaky little devil" He snarled and hurried towards me
In bits of seconds, he had me trapped under him before I could run from him
"Would you please get off me your highness?" I smiled
"How would I deal with you now?" he smiled "Should I start here?" he traced my collar bone to my neck "or here?" he added as his finger stopped on my lips
"None of the stated" I grinned as I noticed the mood change
He leaned in. "I don't think none is part of the options" he said as his breathe tickled my neck
My heart picked up and my breath seemed to seize. His lips held my neck and I gasped as desire flushed through me. His lips caught mine and we gave in to the lust the charred through us.
