Noah

Alex is my Father. This is so unclear. Why is everyone not saying something? What is everyone afraid of?

I arrived early at our usual place that has now become a training ground for Caleb and me. I watched the stream flow calmly as I wondered in my thoughts.

"What bothers you so much Noah?" a voice asked as I broke out of my thoughts

I turned sharply to see Clint crouch beside me.

"It's....nothing" I concluded. I thought to share my thoughts with him but asking if he would by chance know if Alex is my Father sounded rather strange.

"I would assume that you're lying to me and have decided not to share what is bothering you," he said

I sighed. "All my life I grew up with just my mother and Grandmother. Mother tells me that my father is alive and he would come back soon. I just long to see him and I might be mixing up a few things because of my desire. Mother said she knows Alex and that she ought to have married him. she didn't say he is my Father. Grandmother says to take my head out of the clouds" I let out

Clint placed his hand on my back and pat it slightly

"Alex is...."

"Let's begin. sorry I'm late" A voice said and I turned to see Alex

Alex

I packed all my scrolls and was ready to meet with Noah. I looked up to see Arenila in my study room

"Nobody comes in here. You know that" I said carefully as I continued packing

"I'm your Queen," She said

Her presence brought back hurtful memories. She caused my relationship with Mia and worst of all Father's death. My evidence to prove her guilty was not strong enough and silently I still have an investigation done on the case. I'm mostly sorry to Francis because I never wished to have a child with Arenila. I am King and I will do what I wish to do.

"And I am your King. You serve me and I give the rules" I said sternly and yet gently

She lost her balance for a moment but gained it back quickly.

"You've been leaving the Palace" she inquired

"Yes, I have been attending to some important things," I said ready to leave as I began to walk out of my quarter.

"Have you been seeing Mia" she blurted

I paused and turned to her. "That is no concern of yours. Queen." I said as I walked out of the quarter

Arenila

My body shook with fear as he left. What was I supposed to do? I had thought twenty years was enough for him to move on and forget about her. But he didn't. Does he know the truth about His Father? no, he can't. it's impossible. I buried all the evidence. What does this mean? will I be dethroned and Francis won't be king? No, this won't happen. I'll make sure of that.

Alex

I thought carefully as questions arose as to why Arenila's ribbon was found in the kitchen Father's food was always prepared. No one had the authority to be in there except those authorized. Clint had discovered this as I had him silently solve the mysteries behind my Father's death. The thought made me cringe and I felt resentful at her. Making a wild and open investigation about this matter would cause the culprits to vanish. Most definitely Arenila had a hand in my father's death. Everyone had believed Father to have died of sickness but I could tell it was more than that. If only I wasn't so careless.

I arrived later than usual the where I trained with Noah. Clint was already there as I had instructed.

I saw them together and Noah looked unhappy. I suspected I am the reason for his moodiness. Silently, I know he desired to know his Father. Fear of how he would respond if I told him had caused me to hold back from spilling the mighty truth. This truth has the power to change everything, it has the power to kill and save. I sighed heavily as my thoughts burdened me. I have made up my mind. I will determine what this truth will cause. I am King.

"Let's begin practice. Sorry, I'm late" I said as I got closer to them.

Caleb joined later and Practice began.

Practice ended and we settled at our usual inn. We had become so frequent there and got friendly remarks from the inn owner. I watched Noah carefully and noticed he still look unsettled. He didn't make eye contact with me and was majorly silent during all the activities we had together.

"Noah?" I called and He looked at me

"Let's talk outside," I said leaving Caleb and Clint on the table.

We walked together in silence for a short while until he spoke.

"What did you want to talk about?" He asked

"When I was much younger, I loved exploring and adventures. Finding out new places and marking territories" I chuckled and he joined

"Sounds like something I do" He added

"And during one of my explorations, I met your Mother," I said and his stance stiffened.

I continued. "I loved her immediately and wanted to be with her. She drew me closer to her each day and I was charmed by her person. And just as I loved her, she loved me too and we were inseparable." I paused

"What happened?" Noah asked

I understood what his question meant and he's listening to me.

"My father died and that changed everything. Before My Father died, I had made a promise to him that cost me my relationship with Mia. I had to fulfill that promise" I said

"Are you my Father?" He blurted and paused to look directly at me

This is a confrontation.

I sighed strongly to gain my posture. "Yes, Noah I am your Father"

Noah

My heart fell as he finally gave a response to my answer. Why? How? I...I can't...this is too much. I ran as fast as I could away from him and avoided anyone from seeing how bitter I was. My tears couldn't hold back and my heart burned with pain.
