"May I?"
It wasn't long since the last time I heard his voice. Just when I thought I was done for the day, Namjoon was at the door asking for permission to enter my office. I smiled to let him know as he cunningly walked in. A sly smile played on his lips.
Regardless of that smile seeming to be intriguing, it didn't bother me much because of his visible dimples that made him look soft and welcoming. Namjoon made himself comfortable and even though I had three empty chairs for him to settle, he chose to sit on the end of my wooden table.
"Busy I'm assuming?" he asked.
"Well" I spoke with a sigh. "I only have one patient. And I can already say it can't get any worse"
Namjoon chuckled. His hands pushed himself up the table and started walking towards my side of the room. The warm lighting of the lamp beside kept me updated on his moves. There was a rubik's cube in his hands, and he played with it as he approached me further.
"I wonder why each cube is filled with multiple colors" he continued as his fingers were busy matching each sides of the cube to its right colors. "But not black?" Namjoon looked keen to know my answer. He stopped admiring his cube and looked down to me.
"I don't know? Where is the fun if it's all black?" I replied.
"You're right" he answered. "But where is the fun without a bit of darkness to the game"
Even if the room was lit with just the table lamp, there was no way my eyes were lying to me as to how the cube in his hands were now completely back. Each small cube from every corner was pitch black. Namjoon tilted it to show me all six sides of his toy. He looked proud at his accomplishment and held it low to my eye level.
"Fascinating isn't it?" he asked.
"How did youâ"
"A very common magic trick actually"
"Oh"
And then there was silence. A very awkward one.
Neither of us spoke and Namjoon wouldn't stop staring at me with his undying smile. After a count of seconds, he chuckled saying. "Got chya"
"What?"
"It's the lighting Doc, look" he said, showing me the black cube. "When I put it away from the light, it's color is not visible, only black can be seen and that's just because its true colors can't be seen in the dark" Namjoon then pulled the cube away and put it next to the lamp and it had turned to its colorful form again. "Now when you bring it to the light, it turns to its right form"
"Oh, so it was just the effect of the lighting" I replied. It was however still suspicious to me, because regardless of how much ever dark the room is, even with the light shade of the table lamp, there is no way the cube couldn't have the colors visible even a little.
"Well, yes. The role of darkness and the light are important but also two very different. Now imagine a completely black cube being kept in the light, would its color be any different from the darkness?"
"Um, well, no?"
"Exactly, so when something that belongs in the light stopped showing its true colors as it chose to be in the dark, don't you think it will eventually find its way back to the light. Because in the end" he paused and continued. "Their true self belongs in the light" he continued, his eyes having a piercing gaze into mine.
"I'm sorry but its two am in the morning and you came here to tell me how a rubik's cube looks like in the light and dark?" sleepless nights are making me crazy of course, but not more than this creeps crazy theories.
"Sorry Doc" he simply spoke. "I hope you will keep this crazy theory of mine in your head"
Namjoon smiled and walked out my office. And I, like an idiot was still on my spot and thinking why this man would walk up to me this late and teach me the colors of a rubik's cube. He even guessed the crazy theory part, which I'm sure I didn't tell out loud.
I turned towards the table where Namjoon had left the cube at before leaving, right below the table lamp. And as soon as I saw the cube clearly, I decided to go get my sleep before I go crazier for the day. I grabbed my keys and took the other exit door to reach my room.
Because at this point it had to be me hallucinating due to loss of sleep. Even my eyes couldn't believe that after he left the cube in the light, it's color now was actually,
Pitch black.

Rather than being a burden for too long, I thought deciding to leave the human was a better idea. Ms. Minrae probably thinks I'm on crack, but there was no other way for me to help her understand the situation better. I'm pretty sure the Angels are doing a worst job in making her understand this cycle.
"You really think she understood a shit from that?!" a voice spoke behind me when I was just a few centimeters away from her office. Suga was leaning against the door frame and I could tell by the look on his face that he eavesdropped our entire conversation.
"We can't tell her the whole past, hyung, both the worlds forbid us from doing so. This is the only way I could think of to make her understand things at least a little"
"Are you fucking kidding me, Namjoon? She doesn't have an IQ 148 like your stupid ass. So, all she could think of is that you are high on drugs, fool. In the human world, after midnight is never a good time to meet up for a pep talk you know. She probably thinks you're a creep"
"Well at least I tried. I don't want to stay on earth for long either okay?"
"Are you saying I haven't done anything after my arrival here. Well I found Jungkook and he is already in love with me"
"Do you think he knows where Jimin's feather is?"
"No, of course not. He stole it from Jimin in his last life, how would he remember that in this life you moron"
Yoongi was annoyed at answering my stupid questions. But at this point I was restless. Years over years have passed and we are still on the same page of the book.
"Do you think Minrae knows that Jimin is a fallen angel?" this time Yoongi was asking the question.
"Even if she didn't, she should be understanding from my cube theory. A cube that is meant to be in the light kept in darkness can never show its true colors. Jimin was not any fallen angel, he unwillingly chose that path to darkness, and now it rains pain upon him when he turned his ways"
"Yea, um Namjoon, if you think that she will get that point from your cube theory then I don't believe you have an IQ 148"
"Hyung, just because I'm smart doesn't mean your stupid. Look at the bright side, when you compare your IQ level to your height, your IQ is so high, hyung" I said that with a straight face and just walked away from him unbothered.
Yoongi was mad. But because we are on earth, he is at a disadvantage of not using his powers upon me. Instead he just stuck to his superior tongue technology. "You know what Namjoon, why don't you just stick your head up your ass"

The dripping sound of water droplets upon metal continued as I walked down the disgusting godown. Â And its pungent smell was making me sick. The whole path towards the cells is dark. It was as if I was entering the torturing chamber in hell. Except in there the floor is on fire.
I reached my destination and continued to look at the weak figure behind the bars. He was barely breathing and had his body lying unconscious on the cold floor. But he is fine. He was always fine. Crazy how he still survived all these years.
"Are you planning on making him suffer more than he is now" I turned to my right towards the owner of that voice. He still was the same old man.
"You still got that sexy brain, Namjoon?" he asked, mocking me.
"I don't know about me, but you still got that handsome face, Jin"
"Are you flirting with me?"
"I don't know dude, I'm a demon, seduction works on woman and man for me"
"Creep"
"You know it's funny, this is the third time someone is calling me that"
After that we both just stayed silent. It was a weird reunion, but that's just how we were back then. We mostly just diss each other.
"It's hard for me to watch him like this. He didn't deserve this fate" Jin said looking at the boy behind the bars. "I'm pretty sure you are enjoying it though, Namjoon, aren't you?"
"I am his guardian Demon, Jin. I suppose that answers your question. You being his guardian Angel will feel injustice in his suffering, but for me, IâI just caâcant feel anything. But now" I continued "I feel like he suffered enough. He lost his mind and became crazy over the years. And though I should be glad, I can't help but feel pity for his existence because of my greed to stay on earth longer. I should have just let him run after his little sister Minrae back then"
As I spoke both mine and Jin's eyes were still fixed on our human, Hoseok, while we watched him sleep in pain.
